Any news of Alex K/River Song in Season 7?

Maybe if the Doctors' next companion is a tech-wizard, he can figure out how to use the transmat pattern (saved in the buffers in the library) to create a physical River and merge that with a quantum copy of her VR data. (Assuming at some point she transported using it.....or the Doctor can have her use a transporter and then copy the template and bring it to the library. The body template does not have to be so detailed (molecular scan is fine), the conscience part (that's in the VR World) must be stored at a quantum level for memories and personality to be retained.

I want the Doctor and River to go on some adventures by themselves so we can actually see their relationship grow. We've only seen bits and pieces, and while I believe that River loves the Doctor, I'm still not convinced that he loves her yet.

I never bought that the Doctor married her because he loves her. I also don't believe the Doctor for his Time Lord arrogance (which dates back to the early actors to play the part) makes him the same as River Song. Its just my opinion, but I am going to stick by what I have so far said.

River is fabulous. A lot of that is because she's the human equivilant of a Time Lord, so she can think rings around most everyone she meets. It would be shocking if she weren't arrogant. The Dr, the Master and Romana all share that characteristic with River, so she's hardly the first person on the series to have that quality. I think the Dr loves River, but it's still shocking to think of them having a true romantic relationship since the Dr's nearly always been asexual in his behavior. Even with his deep love for Rose, he never seemed to see her as a viable partner. River is his equal in many ways so he relates to her on a different level. As the last of the Time Lords, River is as close to his own kind as he can get. That has to play a part in their relationship, but I think that Alex K brings enough beauty, charisma and sex appeal to make me believe the Doctor loves her.
I do think some criticsm of River is because she's such a powerful female, and that brings out judgement from some people. Not all River haters are going to have that hang up, but I think some do. When she's judged for having traits that other male characters share without criticsm, it looks sexist.

^The same is true with regards to some (note emphasis on SOME) posters with regards to Amy and her flirty nature, she does act a bit like a boy at times which seems to annoy some.

River can be annoying, but I've found I find her less annoying the longer she's around, I guess because the tables are starting to turn between her and the Doctor. When he first met her she had the upper hand, but their relationship is a lot more even handed now.

Unless something changes, the Doctor knows more about River than she does about him. Her ultimate (?) fate is weighing heavy on him even as they are newlyweds.
If River started dropping hints about having the Dr's child, that would be a whole new twist to deal with.
There's also Rory and Amy's reaction to River's fate to deal with. I just can't believe there's not going to be something done about that, the Doctor cheated his own death, can't believe he with all of time and space and all his crafty wiles he wouldn't be able to come up with a work around.

The Doctor or someone else could always find a way to get River out of the Library....
Why bother. It doesn't matter how many stories River appears in or how many Doctor's she appears with. They can all happen before the Eleventh Doctor picks her up to see the Singing Towers of Durillium and before she goes to the Library.

Nein, niet, nope, Uh-uh, and my favourite, man falling off a cliff: NOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo.....!!!

It cheapens her death in reality and we arguably had more than enough her before visiting the Library in S5-6.

I'm convinced that the Doctor loves River. It has taken him time to feel this way mostly because he's didn't know who she was until last series (he's also spent time with her already off camera multiple times as was implied by the series six premier) and perhaps it's not the same love that he felt for Rose, but he loves River. He's mystified by her and excited by that. We could argue if they actually got married or not in the finale last year (I like to think they are personally) and if you've seen the "Night" mini-episodes he spends more time with her. Including one pretty timey wimey scene that is also pretty emotional (Last Night I think it was called).

I am convinced the Doctor does not love River, at least not in the manner some on here would like. I have already stated my reasons why and I stand by them.
I just don't see the two of them as a couple. I never saw him and Rose as a couple either btw. The Doctor is best when not tied down by romamtic earth emotions.

I much prefer it when the Doctor is more like your best friend, willing to do anything to save you ala Peter Davison in 'The Caves of Androzani.' That's as far as it should go, a basic friendship between Time Lord and best friend.

The Dr implied he'd be having a sexual relationship with River after their marriage, I don't think the Dr would sleep with her if he didn't love her, that just doesn't seem like a very Doctor thing to do.

Oh you mean like he did with the Virgin Queen? :rommie:
There was no love there as he was not in his right mind so it was hardly a Doctorish thing to do.
Bug what about River? I never heard it said anywhere he was going to have a sexual relationship with her after marriage? Perhaps I am wrong but could you enlighten me as to scene and dialogue and episode that suggests this?

I definitely agree. I love River, but the character should be retired after the events of "Last Night."

Yeah, well, not everyone saw (or will see) "Last Night" so those vignettes should not be taken into account.

If River and the Doctor could produce a child, it might be the only chance of perpetuating the Time Lord race. I wonder if that has occured to the Doctor yet... (Haven't quite finished season 6).

I wonder if it would be asking to much to suggest that posters confine their remarks to the actual topic of this thread? Every time I see the thread has been updated, I think, "oooo, finally, some news has leaked." Instead, it's only the incessant round of people talking about why they love/hate River and offering their own fantasies about what course the upcoming season should take. I'm continually disappointed that there is no NEWS OF ALEX K/RIVER SONG IN SEASON 7!

We now return this thread to it's regularly scheduled inanity. :vulcan:
