I got into an interesting altercation with a copper today. Not the first time this happened either. These stunts are trying to annoy me. They're so bloody determined to catch us doing something stupid that they are willing to risk others.
Anyway, he drove up so close to the rear of my car, that i was honestly afraid of hitting the brakes or he would've hit me. I mean, there was less than a meter between us. This is a common way of them forcing us to drive faster than allowed. Obviously he wanted to provoke me into speeding. Keep in mind that the roads were icy and I'm pretty sure the weather would qualify as a snow storm. I cold barely see the front end of my car at one point. Although, it got slightly better.
I kept driving the same speed (I even set the cruise control to annoy him.) and he finally turned on the lights. Blue only. Naive as i was, i thought he'd gotten a call and was going to leave me in peace. Think again. I slowed down and pulled to the right so he could overtake me, he didn't. We tried this three more times and then he pissed me off. I kept driving normally, figured he can overtake me if he wants, I don't give a shit anymore.
Well, he kept trying to get my attention by zigzagging behind me. Just to be on the safe side, i checked his lights again, still just blue. After a few kilometers, i was just fuming and i couldn't take it anymore. i pulled over and got out. I yelled at him to get out of the car, and he eventually did.
This was our conversation. I fully admit that i wasn't diplomatic, but keep in mind that I was pissed as hell.
Me: Did you want something from me?
Copper: ---
Me: If you don't have anything to say, don't drive up my arse. If you have a facination with it, here's a newsflash, you're not my type. Try it on some other poor bastard instead.
Copper: (Calm as hell) Why didn't you stop?
Me: (I point at the lights) Look at your bloody car, you incompetent bastard. Blue means get out of my way, red-blue means stop. You need to get learn which button does what.
Copper: (still calm as hell) Why didn't you stop?
Me: Are you deaf? When you flash me with red and blue, I'll pull over. You don't honestly thing I'd try to run in a station wagon with 100bhp, did you? I know you people can't drive, but i still wouldn't have a chance. Now i ask again, did you want something from me?
Copper: No.
Me: Good for you. Now, if you pull that shit with me gain, I'll slam the brakes so hard they are going to scrape you off my rear window with a tea spoon. And you can explain to your boss how you totaled a brand new cruiser because you couldn't keep you distance. Well, the good day to you.
Then I got in my car and left. He didn't follow me, or try to stop me at all.
I admit, I needed to went, but I'd also like to know if this is acceptable behavior outside Sweden. I don't think the law against provoking crime means much to these people. And neither does traffic laws...
