No, I'm not kidding - and if you do not understand what I mean then I cannot help you, I've said it as clearly as I am able.
Okay, I'll try: If a character appears on screen and his name is "KHAN", I consider it a remake. Clear enough?
But you didn't answer his question. Do you consider The Dark Knight a remake of Batman (1989) just because they both feature Batman vs. the Joker? And was Batman (1989) a remake of the even older Batman movie with Cesar Romero as the Joker?

Criminy, I forgot how it is always the season of the witch, online.
Remake, rehash, retread or reboot, even. Was it really so difficult to discern what I meant?

Until the movie is in the theaters and the credits verified, it's probably best to take the cast list at IMDb with a grain of salt.IMDB is listing Cumberbatch as Kahn.

They're reinventing the character. It will no longer be Khan Noonien Singh, but rather Wilford Nicholas Fenroy Kahn III, Esq,. Ph.D., DDT, TNT.

IMDB is not a reliable source where upcoming movies are concerned.

Just like Wikipedia, any idiot can submit to IMDb. I've done it myself in the past. What?

For the build-up to "Nemesis", some wacky fan got onto IMDb and listed every Romulan and actor ever to appear in TOS, TNG and DS9, including those played by Joanne Linville (TOS Female Romulan Commander) and Denise Crosby as Sela. Those names stayed there until a final casting sheet became available.
"The Wrath of Cohen"? Chuch, I'm tellingk you, you don't want to know from that....
And I hope they're citing him as Khan, not "Kahn."
(Nothing personal. It's amazing how often that name gets misspelled. It's "Khan" as in Genghis Khan or Kublai Khan. "Kahn" sounds like he runs a deli or something.)
Must resist the urge to add "and Jerry Mathers as The Beaver" to cast list.IMDB is listing Cumberbatch as Kahn.

Why do so few people here realize how bad of an idea making a Khan movie is?
The writers said they were going to stick in the Botany Bay at the end of the previous movie's credits.
