I just paid for a student in Bangladesh to have a Flickr Pro Account for a year which I will probably continue to pay for as long as he stays an eager photographer.

I decided a couple of months ago that I would pay for someone's Pro Account and looked through a few group threads in which people were requesting for Pro Accounts to be bought for them. I finally decided on this young man because I like his photos and because it is difficult to pay online for anything if you live in Bangladesh as hardly anyone has a credit card and PayPal isn't available. I also realised that most of the people getting Pro Accounts bought for them were young females and this guy didn't have much of a chance of obtaining one.

In a couple more months time I will pay for a account for a female member - maybe someone living in Africa or Central/South America.

50€ for transporting the shell of my Mercedes 190d(EC) to the junk yard.

Rest in pieces, old friend. (1984-08-22 : 2012-01-15) Every time I outrun some Iraqi in his wannabe BMW M5, I'll think of you.

We got a nice 2009 Impreza Sedan last week to replace our older Forester - we needed something much more reliable and we love this model.

Yeah, me too :) I've been looking for a leather loveseat/recliner combo for my living room since we've done a lot of changes to it over the last month to mitigate our space issue.

We bought this track lighting to replace two, now oddly situated, light fixtures.

Agreed. I wish I could see more Mets/Phils games there but I don't have time. I'm on a mission to see every ballpark in the major leagues, and I only have a week to use on this trip, so I'm taking care of two ballparks in one go (Camden Yards in Baltimore, and Citizens Bank Park in Philly).

Indeed. I like those a lot.

    Too funny.

Chaucer translated The Republic at some point?! I never knew that! (or am I misreading what you've written?)

Some good reading you have there. The Republic is fascinating as a case, even if you disagree with many of its conclusions. Canterbury Tales can be genuinely funny (rare in a historical text) though other parts are a bit duller. Paradise Lost? I'd just advise you to persist with it, even if you occasionally find it hard work. It's worth it.

Sorry, I worded the sentence badly. I meant a translation of the Republic and a translation of The Canterbury Tales by Chaucer.

I've been interested in all three works for some time and have heard good things about all of them. My mother was the one who recommended The Canterbury Tales due to the fact that she learned and read them in the original Middle English.

I just ordered some soprano recorders (music instruments). :) I'm enjoying playing the recorder.

40€ for a bloody parking ticket. Even though I was parking legally. I'm gonna lodge a complaint and appeal with CarPark. Its not the first time those blind bastards gave me a ticket for a legal parking, unfortunately my mam's car doesn't have the dual license plate setup my Merc had.

Oh right; OK, that makes more sense! Hope you have fun reading them all.

Grocery shopping today. Amongst other things, I got some rather nice houmous with caramelised onions which I couldn't resist opening & promptly having on toast for a quick lunch. It's a thrill a minute round these parts... :p
