^ You know, it just so happens that this morning I received a message from my mother telling me that a dear friend died of cancer, at dawn, after many long years of suffering.
Your comment is in such bad taste, it's unbelievable.
I know you didn't make it up yourself and that it is apparently one of those "cool things to say" among young people, but seriously, doesn't anybody use any discernment anymore?

I'm sorry for your loss. Really, I am. I've lost 3 people i know to cancer. I am well aware of its effects. But you should indeed know me well enough to know that i didn't mean anything bad by it.

I did not comment in order to impale him on the stake of maliciousness, I know there was none as far as this specific post is concerned.

His comment on the fondue could have been funny in any number of other ways:

"This joke is so bad it made even my dog groan out loud"
"This joke is so bad it made me want to gag like not even a spinach flan ever could"
"This joke is so bad I wish I had the red blingy thingy of the Men in Black to erase it from my memory"

Again, the fact I had received such bad news is completely circumstantial, that comment would have been in bad taste two weeks ago, and it will be in bad taste three years from now, and Lewis Morton's paternity does not my mind change. That is my personal opinion.

You're right. It is in extreme bad taste.

Again I will remind you though that there are many things that are posted on this board, this forum and comments posted even in this thread that are in even poorer taste that do not incite the ire of you or many others, least of all moderators.

Certainly each of us has a different barometer for what we can tolerate in terms of bad taste, and yes, again I agree - this "joke" despite coming from a popular cartoon, is still not particularly funny.

Sorry, I just don't see the point. Cancer isn't a curse word directed at someone. It's a medical malady. Using the word in a joke isn't going to make someone get cancer or make them responsible for having cancer. The joke didn't even wish that someone else got cancer, Shameless pointed it directly at himself.
