WOW. Very impressive. Much nicer than mine!

That's sweet of you to say, but no, not nicer, just different. Your's is AWESOME! i love that you have figurals on it.

I'd be too worried someone would steal my micro machines if I put a wreath like that outside!

We live in a nice neighborhood, although that's not to say teens and other kids haven't done damage around town once in a while. But the wreath is on our front porch, and you have to walk up a driveway to get to it. Someone would have to have a pair of balls the size of a caddy to take our wreath. And while AuntieHill's wreath has micromachines, my wreath doesn't ....those are non working (and wires cut off of) Hallmark ornies. I use to be a dealer in Star Trek/ Star Wars ornies and so once in a while there'd be a couple that didn't work. So i saved them up to make a wreath.

Are you taking that cheese to sickbay?

Flukie, i love you.

I wish I could have a tree like that. I used to have a tree, but it was some cheap piece of #()%*#% that I got from a department store and it was a pain in the patookus to put together. I just got too lazy to even bother putting it up every year, especially since I rarely have visitors :sigh: ! But those are absolutely beautifull tree and wreath and fish (Nemo? :D ) pics. :techman:

As for the cheese: At least it's not standing alone...

^ You know, it just so happens that this morning I received a message from my mother telling me that a dear friend died of cancer, at dawn, after many long years of suffering.
Your comment is in such bad taste, it's unbelievable.
I know you didn't make it up yourself and that it is apparently one of those "cool things to say" among young people, but seriously, doesn't anybody use any discernment anymore?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't personal, mate. Shameless can go overboard with his jokes sometimes. But I've never seen him act like a jerk just for the sake of it.

How was Shameless to discern that you would happen to enter this thread shortly after receiving such bad news?

Sorry for your loss, but his post had nothing to do with it.

I'm sorry for your loss.

However, why are you pointing out "young people". I've seen older adults talk like that.

When you think cancer is a funny word to throw around, you know you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for entertainment.

I don't think the "so bad it gave me cancer" line is very funny either, having lost both family and friends to the disease.

That said, I don't think its fair to call Shameless out for it --and publicly, no less-- since it strikes so personal a chord with some. There are far worse things said on this board, in this particular forum and even in this particular thread -- that do not get the same kind of negative attention or reaction.

One of my best friends from college died in 2008 from colon cancer after fighting the disease for five years, leaving behind a family, and her husband and infant son. Both my grandmothers and my aunt died from cancer. I'm sure each of us knows someone who has been taken by the disease.

But Niorah, you've been here long enough to know Shameless doesn't have a malicious bone in his body. Was the joke in bad taste? Sure. Did he make it to hurt you or me or anyone else? I'd wager the answer to that would be a resounding "No."

I'm sure if he were here, he'd be more than willing to reconcile that yeah, the joke was in poor taste and that he never meant to rub salt on an already sensitive wound, so let's not fire up the witch trial just yet, ok?

Lastly, allow me to express my genuine sympathy on the loss of your friend. Cancer is a bitch.
