PICTURE POST!

My beard is coming in nicely. I keep forgetting to take a stupid picture of it to post. (*Facepalm*) I'll try to get on that.

OOOOOkay...time to de-creepify things here.

From my last trip to Boston at the end of August...

Fenway Park...with LENS FLARES!!

A fairly awesome-ish pic of the Boston Public Garden if I do say so myself. :D

Closest thing to a bench clearing brawl I ever saw live.

Francisco Cervelli had hit a home run earlier in the game and then, after getting back to home plate, got right up in Jarrod Saltalamacchia's face and clapped like a little bitch. Then at Cervelli's next at-bat, John Lackey hit him with a pitch. This was the result. As much as I love the Yankees, even I think Cervelli deserved it.

Your typical Fenway crowd singing 'Sweet Caroline'

The late, great Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha
(unfortunately I don't have any CWS pictures from there; these are both from Royals games)

I love Boston. I hope I can spend more than just a day there next time I visit my New England family...

I haven't done much crafting lately, but here is a bottle opener and pendant I made last week. The beads are made from recycled bottle caps!

I'm not quite done decorating for Christmas- but I finished putting up my toy tree:

29 mini American Girl dolls on the tree.

I'm not into the American Girl series(that was my late mother's thing)...but I have to tell you that tree looks awesome. Very Victorian or Edwardian. The old-time Christmas trees from 100 or more years ago were really classy and gorgeous. They didn't have an excess of gaudy ornaments and lights. :techman:

Love the lens flare comment; and love my Fenway! :techman:

I spent three days there and saw some great baseball games. Yankees-Redsox - can't get much more exciting than that! (My Yankees even won two out of three. INCLUDING one where A.J. Burnett pitched! :techman:)

A V.I.P. even dropped by...

And I had an awesome time in Boston itself. Even though I had Yankee gear on the whole time, I didn't get one bit of hassling from anyone (apart from the occasional catcall yelled from a passing car :p ). I wish I had time to go back there, but I have a lot of other ballparks to see first.

Here's my scraggly little tree. I put it up after Thanksgiving.

I only put about 1/3 of my ornament collection on the tree. I left all my Trek ornaments off this year, as well as some small plastic ones. Just wasn't "feeling it" with those this year.

Not a very good picture, but my little pocket camera, combined with my ineptitude, doesn't usually result in great photos.

My mom instilled a deep and obsessive love of all things Christmasy, which is odd, as we are all atheists. But, like Mom, I love my Christmas stuff.
So, yes, I took pictures of my favorite Christmas things because, well, I have a lot of free time.

Here are some of my favorite ornaments:
Yellow Kitty and Snack
Christmas2011004.jpg

Sherlock. I ADORE Sherlock Holmes stories.
Christmas2011005.jpg

Bagpiper Santa. I love Santas and I love most things Scottish (I'm half Scottish on both sides of the family)
Christmas2011006.jpg

Big Teddy
I love teddy bears. One year, my mom gave me a box of teddy ornaments. The only that really spoke to me is this guy, so he goes on the tree every year.
Christmas2011004-1.jpg

Toy Solider Mickey. Yes, I'm a Mickey fan.
Christmas2011007.jpg

Goldfish (from the bride's set I received when I got married--a family tradition). Each ornament in a bride's set has a meaning. I just like the look of the little fishy.
Christmas2011005-1.jpg

This Guy. From Hubby's cousin. I like to think of him as The Ghost of Christmas Present. Hubby calls it Giant Santa Head.
Christmas2011003-1.jpg

My little stuffed animals---here's a few. People have given them to me over the years. I really like the Hedgehog.
Christmas2011001.jpg

My Santa nutcracker, given to me by my best pal a few years ago.

He's a Jim Shore figure. The picture doesn't do him justice. I just love him. My best pal is very religious, and obviously, I'm not, so she sends me Santas, and I send her Angels.

And, of course, the obligatory shot of the Star Trek wreath that I put on the door every Christmas. It's years old, and clearly I have no artistic ability whatsoever, but it's my only holiday decoration that hubby actually LIKES. Plus, it is definitely "unique."

I'm moving in about 5 months or so, you want my place?

Or, to paraphrase a certain basketball player, "I'm taking my talents to Cannon Beach."

I'd be too worried someone would steal my micro machines if I put a wreath like that outside!
