It was just too emotionally malicious to Dashie, sorry but I cannot condone the other 5's plan or behaviour, the town folk are whatever they need to be week to week but Twilight and the others are better than that, or were until this.

It wasn't malicious at all. Dashie was going to end up destroying herself and her reputation. Her friends stepped in to bring her back to her good hearted self. When one friend goes out of control, what kind of friend steps back and lets her stay that way? The 5 did what had to be done, and they succeeded.

Here I enjoyed the hell out of that and was ready to read a thread full of the usual praise, and come in to find everypony arguing about how bad it was. Ah well.

Funny thing is, I agree with Chem about all the eyebrow-raising conceits, but for some reason, it all worked for me. More of interest happened in this one than either of the previous two episodes, and it was nice to see the mane 6 featured again as a tonic to what I'm starting to think was the very bad decision post-Lesson Zero to focus episodes exclusively on one pony at a time. That said:

Her friends stepped in to bring her back to her good hearted self. When one friend goes out of control, what kind of friend steps back and lets her stay that way?

Maybe they could not jump to the most ridiculous solution right away? I think the writing could have improved matters by including a scene early on where the others try to approach Dash about her behavior and she blows them off, thus justifying more extreme measures.

But no matter. That stops it from being an "A" episode, but I loved most of the other stuff. Scootaloo dressed as Rainbow Dash is now canon, Dash kissed Applejack (on the cheek, you pervs), the Pinkie sense returns (yay!), Spike is now a ghost, and we got a decent if underplayed character meltdown, which is always fun. And did I mention Scootaloo? Because that won me over more-or-less immediately. It's not the best episode they've done, but I liked it a lot more than several others.

B, maybe B+, and a welcome improvement after the last two weeks.

My thoughts are that it was implied. With 21 minutes, some things have to be inferred. The editing on this episode seemed more rapid, that they had to cut a good deal of a longer story to fit it into it's time slot. Which just makes me want to see a 45 minute full on episode of the show. Not likely, but still.

Oh, and Scootaloo as Dashie fan club President FTW.
Also, Dash kisses Applejack. :adore:

An explanation I'd be more likely to buy if we hadn't seen the show do better. Christ, "Green isn't Your Color" juggled three character arcs, introduced a fully-realized one-off character, and featured some side business about Spike's crush on Rarity. When they can fit that in under half an hour, what the hell is their excuse lately?

I will admit it seems they've simplified their message as compared to the first season (particularly the latter half), and have laid it on thicker that way. Still, I'm enjoying the show and just love to see the characters each week, though I would like to see more introspection like from the first season. This newer pace in editing (faster cuts/less exposition) is a little too much at the moment.

Copying time: :D

Alright episode. I suppose. I didn't mind at all about the plot, I suppose I was more interested in the pretty shiny spectacles of disasters that made this episode so visually interesting (and humourous).

I'll give it a B. RD's attitude was exactly what I'd expect from her, and I liked it. She's awesome, but I like that she has flaws too. And her interaction with Scootaloo is SO cute. (Especially calling her Squirt, I can't remember if she's done that before?).

Also, I did like the pace of this episode. It felt quite fast and kept me interested all the way.
Also, more Rarity next episode!

Yeah, the whole "Squirt" thing is adorable. Dashie's taken Scoot under her wing and you can tell how enamored Scootaloo is. What I love is that even though Scootaloo was excited about the Mare Do Well appearance, you could see from her expression that she was still Dash's loyal fan all the way through.

I thought it was a lot of fun, and Dashie needed to be taken down a notch. It was the kind of reaction that the other 5 should have done for Twilight Sparkle in Lesson Zero, so maybe they learned to step in when friends are getting out of control before it gets too bad.

And I had fun guessing which pony was in the suit for each incident. Called it for AJ stopping the carriage, and Pinkie using her agility at the construction site, but I thought it might have been Rarity restoring the damn since it dealt with minerals, but it makes more sense that Twilight's strength would be needed for a project of that size.

I don't think I buy Dash not instantly recognizing Applejack's legs in action. I think that qualifies as a plot hole.

A step up from last week's and an enjoyable episode on its own. The Batman homages/references were a highlight, as was the music--which is usually good, but particularly noticeable in this episode. I must admit, I didn't have the ending pegged once it was revealed the Mare Do Well flew. A solid B.
