College Football 2011 Discussion

Lee Corso just screamed "FUCK IT" on national television. That was entertaining.
I also laughed, but its sad that something my friends and I would say on a daily basis and not even blink is probably going to cost Mr. Corso a pretty penny in fines.

This is an actual post from trademarcs over on the rivals board at yahoo. He's quite typical of the university of Oklahoma mindset. I didn't write this myself. You can go check. This, gentlemen, is what I put up with all the time.

Their SOS will get them there. If they beat Baylor handily, and ram it up Okie Lites ass, no question they will jump all but LSU. So you kids can bitch, whine, complain, cry me an effnnn river............I can assure you the voters in the polls will make dam sure there isnt a rematch in the MNC game. Its all about money, and a rematch with Oregon or Bama just isnt going to bring in the cash. Now go ahead and keep throwing the TTU game at us.............it isnt going to amout to a hill of beans when its all said and done. Hell, if LSU loses, we could hit #1........I bet this board would explode if that happened and I'll laugh my ass off......

:rommie: :guffaw:

He's not kidding, either. It's not a parody post. They believe it.

Apparently the Gator Bowl Association's president told The Sporting News that based upon his conversations, he can very easily see all of the bowls associated with the Big Ten declining to invite the school.

I'm kind of torn on that. The coaching staff and the administration were and are scum, but why punish the students who actually performed well on the field, to the point of having a claim to a Big Ten / BCS game?

I read the Rivals board, also. But I don't post there. The level of maturity is far too low to have any intelligent conversation. I prefer talking about sports on other forums that aren't sports-dedicated, like this one for example.

Those Rivals forums are filled with children.

Assuming things go as expected this weekend, Alabama should be #2. This development should fire the team up enough to really put a beating on Georgia Southern (bad time to play a weakling).
Georgia Southern is 9-1 and ranked #3 in the FCS. They've already locked up their conference championship. Alabama is still heavily favored, but I'd like to see a good game.
No joy on the good game. I know the option's tough to defend when run well, but listening to the game, Alabama seemed flat. The defense still managed to keep an opponent to 14 or less but the special teams fouled-up (again) and coughed up 7 on a kick return. Glad to have that one in the rear-view mirror.

Unfortunately, it's the moneymaking machine at the school, and its corrupt administration that have to be punished, and denying them the revenue and recruiting power is one way to make sure they get punished even if (as is likely these days) the justice system fails yet again. They cared about money above all--kick them in the pocketbook where it hurts. Really, this should be a death penalty offense.

I feel bad for any student on that team who was innocent of knowledge of Sandusky's abuse and Paterno's enabling. But they are the only ones I feel bad for. Let this be a lesson to them in why if you see something, you must say something. That is something that will be more important for them to carry away with them as adults than athletic accolades.

I love how FSU games seem to bring out the worst in ACC officiating. Is there anything they can do about this? Lawsuit, vote of no confidence, etc...?

This is shaping up to be a tumultuous weekend... Okie State already lost, Clemson lost earlier, USC is beating Oregon, and Baylor is giving OU a fight. Meanwhile, LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas all won today.

I could envision a scenario where the 1,2,3 teams tomorrow are all SEC.

USC has a 3 score lead now. They just showed an adult Ducks fan crying.

And Florida State just sucks. They're not the FSU of the 90's.

FSU will probably be a powerhouse again when they get their recruiting back and get some consistency going. Miami and Florida aren't exactly appealing anymore.

Depending on what happens with Stanford, it's very possibly that we could see

1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Arkansas

which is insane!!!

it's all a toss up after that.

I love BCS Chaos.

What a performance by Baylor to beat Oklahoma for the first time ever. Although I wonder what the Baptist hierarchy thinks of RG3 making the sign of the cross every time they score. Probably as long as they keep scoring, they don't mind.

The locals are going to RAKE. STOOPS. OVER. THE. COALS for that last timeout on Baylor's drive. Still....I sense I'm not going to have take the shitstorm that was coming my way at work on Monday.

Hee hee hee. Suck it, Sooners, with your arrogance and your "of course we'll beat O-State this year. It's only a formality now." Assholes. I wonder what the lovely Sooner fans at Rivals are doing about now. Gosh, what a shame considering that Oregon lost, too. Hee hee hee. My boss is going to be in a foul mood now, but I don't care.

Congrats to the USC Trojans. Going into Autzen under trying circumstances and getting a win against a very good and very hot Oregon team showed a lot of heart. They are without question one of the most underrated teams in the country.

Bad news though is that we will almost surely lose Matt Barkley to the NFL and cost SC a real shot at the BCS Championship next season. Oh well, Lane Kiffin rocks.

It was absolutely brutal today. After all the shit the Rivals boards were giving Alabama this afternoon for playing a FCS school and it being a close game (if winning by more than 3 TDs is close), right at the beginning of the night games it was awfully quiet. When USC went up 3 TDs on Oregon, people started asking where all the Oregon fans were.

Its epic karma. Don't talk trash about another school's games when you still haven't played yours yet.

Dear Oregon,

You are cordially invited to suck it.

Signed,

USC

Seriously that was an epic game. I thought a lot about my friend Mallory today. I'm sure he's up in Heaven, asking himself "What the fuck just happened?!?!"

;)

Cheers, Buddy.

Very true. Very true. Heck, if Arky beats LSU, 'Bama will be in the title game after all. Who would they play? The BCS is in chaos, my friends.

My boss is going to be in a foul, foul mood with OU losing. Oh well. To hell with him. This is the man that absconded with my cute little paper maché Pistol Pete figure and left a note saying, "Leave 20 bucks and a dozen donuts or Pete hits the shredder."
