I wonder who the Doctor saw in his hotelroom. Maybe himself?
Very likely himself and/or the TARDIS. (Thought I heard a sound effect from the console room.) He initially thought that it would be what he most feared, but actually it would have been what would elicit from him the most potent sense of faith, unless the line about leakage is to be believed. Interesting that it was room number 11, too.

I'm not buying what he said about the person "steeped in the blood of a thousand galaxies" not being him, either.

He didn't say it wasn't him - he was translating the minotaur's dying speech, and *it* was saying it wasn't referring to itself - but by implication to the Doctor.

I don't care what anyone else says on this matter, this episode was the best of the series, far better than The Doctors Wife and better than the Girl Who waited last week.
Meh, different strokes for different folks. Those are all very different episodes, so naturally they will appeal to different people whose tastes vary. Consequently, it's near impossible to assign any absolute rating.

Indeed but have you watched The God Complex then?

The Doctor saw something to do with the TARDIS since we heard the cloister bell going off, maybe something to do with it being destroyed or some universe ending thing happening (since thats what the cloister bell usually means)?

I really liked this episode btw, I've hated most of Moffat era but this and The Doctors Wife were both great.

I also couldn't help noticing a lot of reuses of last season's music - especially Amy's themes - has there actually been much new music this season?
I thought last week was rather egregious in the reuse of cues from last season, to the point where it was actively distracting. I get that the production is saving money by recycling past recordings and not commissioning new music, but at some point the cheapness and recycling will be damaging to the episodes because viewers associate musical cues with other scenes elsewhere, perhaps even giving them undeserved emotional weight because of it.

I heard the cloister bells in his room. So he definitely saw the TARDIS. I thought the idea was that they got so scared they turned to their faith for comfort or to help them out.

Last season several aliens banded together to trap the Doctor in the Pandorica. In this season madam Kovarian says people are in war with the Doctor. River is telling the Doctor that his named changed from being a healer to a warlord. And now the minotaur is suggesting the Doctor has blood on his hands. With the Doctor's death and the identity of the Silence, I have a feeling it is going to take more than two episodes to get it all resolved. And next week looks like a stand alone episode!

The sound I picked up on when the Doctor looks into the room, isn't a console room sound rather it sounds throught the TARDIS, the Cloister bell

I liked this episode as well, felt like we could have seen more of David Williams, but apart from that it was a strong episode.

Rory and Amy leaving is sad, but I cant help but feel we will see them again in the finale, even if the Doctor for once had a chance to realise "his truth" and do the right thing for once.

First episode I've really enjoyed in this half of the series. I know she'll be back in the finale but I hope that is Amy really gone from the series.

If I remember correctly Rory says something like that he 'traveled' with the Doctor. Past sense. Then the Doctor drops Amy and Rory of in front of their blue house. Could they be in a time loop? Forgetting somehow what happened before and reading books where the Doctor pops up now and again. Are they going to receive a blue envelop in a couple of months and travel to America? Where it al starts over again. That would kinda explain why the series began with Rory and Amy inside their house instead of in the blue box with the Doctor.
Amy and Rory first meet an older Doctor, who dies, and than a younger Doctor. Than they save Melody Pond who gets kidnapped a few episodes later. Maybe something or someone is messing with causality or maybe i'm rambling because i am getting sleepy.

No, it hasn't aired here yet, so it will be interesting to see how things settle out when I do. I've seen "The Doctor's Wife" and "The Girl Who Waited" and I've read a variety of reviews and descriptions of "The God Complex". That all tells me of three very different episodes that on the whole were received very well by a significant number of people. A different group perhaps but still a significant number. That tells me there is no absolute best or even better. But like I said, it will be interesting to see how I feel after I do see tonight's episode. Mind you, I thoroughly loved both of the other two.

I would say that that's likely but the door in The Impossible Astronaut isn't blue

As did I. But after watching The God Complex, I thought it was the better episode.

I guess I should have have put that it was in my humble opinion, but as this is a review thread and in my opinion, that's really all we're working from when talking about an episode in this context is opinions, I didn't actually think it was necessary.

i don't understand why this week happened?

Last week Rory says that he dosn't want to travel with the doctor any more even before he's forced to murder his wife, and now after a good nights sleep, they're all Scoobi Doo high on life shit.

leaving last week would have been so much more dramatic.

Instead they forgave him for the unforgivable and then he fobs them off in a moment of generosity seconds later.

What bollocks.
