The last three
TVD eps were certainly eventful!

OTOH, the rat-attack doc was a bit of a bust, only watched about half of it.
John's sacrifice for Elena was very touching.
Question about Jeremy: what happened to his Magic Revival Ring that brought him back from the dead before? And howcome that time he wasn't seeing dead people afterwards too?
Stefan has finally gone off the wagon. (Well, I was spoiled on that long before I ever saw it.) This should be interesting.
Overall, S2 was much better than S1 although I didn't really care about all the back and forth about the curse. You need this doodad and that critter, and it's for this, no it's for that. A lot of fussing to fill airtime before they finally got around to the point.
I'd rather see more character-based drama as the focal point of S3, with the characters dealing with external threats being shoved more into the background (of course that element is not going to go away, nor should it). Stefan dealing with being "evil." Damon trying to shape the frak up. That stuff has excellent potential.
But by comparison, I get really tired of characters being noble and sacrificing their lives for their friends. When
everyone is doing that, it robs them of individuality. This show has a tendency to just have Column A and Column B characters - the good, self-sacrificing ones and the bad, selfish ones. Trouble is, all the A's act alike and all the B's act alike. Damon sticks out as belonging to neither A nor B, so it's no wonder he's so popular. Now they've pushed Stefan into that gray area, that's progress.
In S3, I hope this show can develop the greater individuality of the A's, and if they insist on having B's around, just use them as foils to drive the action and then kill them in some spectacular way. And don't keep them around too long because they quickly become a bore. For instance, why is Katherine still alive?
So it looks like Alaric is the only "normal" person among the main cast now? I'd like to see him pushed into Column C with Damon and Stefan, maybe by resurrecting his vampire-hunting mode. He would be a good focus for the conflict between needing to kill the vamps who are acting up, and wanting to spare them in case they can get their shit together. Mainly I just want more screen time for Ric because I've decided that he's the hottest guy on the show.
main question now what is up with jeremy at the season end and was steffen drinking klaus's blood to become a hybrid?
Jeremy sees dead people and Stefan wasn't drinking Klaus' blood, he was just guzzling people-blood and getting addicted again. I guess all those decades on the wagon were a bad idea because it's given him a people-blood-addiction disease that other vamps don't seem bothered by.
There's no way to become a vamp-wolf hybrid; you have to be born a werewolf and then become a vampire.
