I've seen it.Wow, 35% on Rottentomatoes. That's 10% lower than even the crappy third movie.
I quite agree, I found it more a case of the story lines simply not having much depth rather than being confusing. There was too little story for too many characters, but the story itself was very straight forward.I don't get some of the reviews, especially the ones complaining about the "over-complicated, convoluted storyline". I thought the storyline was very easy to understand and much more straightforward than any of the previous movies. I also liked it a lot more than parts 2 & 3.
Nice review. It's a shame it still appears to be as bloated as ever, though.

You know, the obsession with seeing what a movies "score" is on sites like Rotten tomatoes always confuses me. You either liked it or you didnt, the score wont validate your opinion and wont change your enjoyment level, and wont make the slightest difference to whether a sequel gets made to the film.
I don't care what the critics say. All the Pirate sequels have gotten mixed reviews, but I liked them anyway. I've been looking forward to seeing OST for a while and will decide if it is good or not.
The 3-D is used good at times but again, it's not really needed for the whole film. I'm not a fan of Avatar but it did use the 3-D in nearly every frame and make the movie as a whole worthy of it's use. Curse you Avatar for this damn overused trend. I can think of about 3-4 scenes where, for about 2-3 seconds, the 3-D really jumps out at you.
As for the third act I'll say this:The ending was easy to predict but it was done good enough. Also, I had always thought Blackbeard's legend was that he had a peg leg, here he didn't. But Barbarosa does and he ends up with the Queen Ann and Blackbeards enchanted sword, thus will become the de-facto Blackbeard. Also it appears the Missionary(name escapes me) is going to become a Merman? Not sure if the fangs they have were meant to imply they possessed a vampiric nature but Serene did say she could save him from his seemingly mortaly inflicted wound.
As with the other Pirates movies stay through the credits for one last 10 second or so scene.
I'm a bit surprised that it's Saturday night or Sunday for some and only 12 people have voted in the poll. Legit I saw it and voted posters. Just 12?

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I know very few people who are interested in this movie, and even they are not making it a priority. I'll check it out sometime on Netflix...maybe...

That said, I'm still psyched to see it and was pleased to see that Dream gave it a good review.
