- Rush taking the day off to have sex with a computer program woman, the ultimate nerd fantasy
- The Rush stuff reminds me of a line Kirk said in “The Man Trap” about how the salt creature can become whatever Crater wanted. Now Rush has his lover in the Destiny to do the same thing.
- I loved the way they infiltrated Langara, Except, Woolsley really abandoned his “we won’t help you” so quickly.
- Young looks like he trying to sell used cars in that suit.
- Victor Garber was underused.
- Lou Diamond Phillips was misused here. He’s a experienced Air Force Colonel, not a whiny little baby. Motives or not, it’s showing the writers have no idea what they want of him.
- The bellyaching about needing to know what happened to Atlantis is just sad. Really, this is SGU, not SGA. If there had been a throwaway line, people would’ve felt cheated. If there was a whole scene of about Atlantis, people would say it was “These Are The Voyages…” where the end of one show had so much of another show in the franchise on it.

And whoever posted it is right, this is old McKay, not the current and better McKay, its like they wrote his character from an early season of SGA.

...

Also, when the ship dropped out of FTL the stones should have disconnected briefly, another mistake they didn't show.

Mckay seemed right to me. If the comment is about him looking at Vanessa Jame's breasts... it's been known that even a married man would occasionally stare at other ladies.

FTL stones: By all accounts the two Langarans were in the administrator's office. A brief disconnection wouldn't have done anything.

"SG-1 Teams 4 and 5". Think about that for a while.

Apparently, much in the same way as the TOS Enterprise "delta" emblem becoming the universal Star Fleet emblem by TNG days, the meteoric success of SG-1 has caused "StarGate Command" to be renamed "SG-1"....

They definitely have the government logic down pat. The last two times a planet went to hell. So, this time they hand the task to a guy who wiped out a whole solar system! :D

If it were a ratings grab then it would have been in the first half of the season, when they actually mattered.

The producers didn't know the series was cancelled when they produced this episode. Ratings late in the season are just as important as ratings early in the season when it comes to renewal.

No they're not, because the decision is always made long before the second half even airs. In fact had the show been renewed, they would have started filming a third season long before we even saw this episode.

The episode was written by Remi Aubuchon who isn't very familiar with the franchise and directed by a women who has never worked on the franchise before at all, add to that the fact that none of the characters were from SG-1 if sort of made the perfect storm for a potential goof

The exchange between Telford and Mckay was interesting. Do you think the writers were contemplating adding Mckay to the SGU cast?

I do. If Robert Carlyle had left for whatever reason, McKay would have been an interesting replacement. It was really cool to see him again.

Why do they bring people like that in to write episodes that know nothing about the show?

That's rather stupid

Why do people want the entire writing staff fired then? This should prove why that's a bad idea.

It might not have been in the script at all, it might just have been a goof from Picardo that the director (who's never directed for any Stargate before) didn't pick up on.

It was an O.K. episode, it was great to see Mackay again. i jumped through the amanda perry scenes.

I don't see how someone wouldn't catch that

Eh? How can you not see someone missing it if it's not in the script, but can see someone missing it if it was?

Atlantis canceled because these guys thought this would be better for the Fans....

What a flop....6/10
(Sigh)

What was sad was that two hours after this episode they played "Enemy at the Gate" and I cried.....

Cried because even with it's flaws it was a far better episode than any single episode of SGU.
