Well since AJ or Brent haven't made a thread yet, I'll do it for tonight's episode.

Nothing fancy just watch, discuss, and vote.

Amanda Perry should have been a main character.

I hope she is around often for the rest of the season.

    Also, talk about infiltration.

At first I was scared that he deleted them, but I was so revealed when he said that he just transferred them.

Well...I was excited for about 35 minutes and around 15 minutes after that I realized this was a really fake out of an episode. I smiled at seeing McKay and Woolsey but the Rush portion was boring for a really long time. Then once you realize that are Heroes are more like a bunch of idiots for attacking their allies...

Young takes the remaining time to surrender proving the stupidity of the character they have under control of Destiny. It was so disappointing. Instead of our "Heroes" rushing in to save the day because they know better, they end up looking like a bunch of Idiots. Is that really how Stargate Universe Episodes goes? Don't we even get a moral victory? We all know the bureaucratic mentality, they make bad decisions but there is an old adage that Men on the Ground Know the Situation. Our boys were so stupid.

It was quite the metaphor though...
The SGC puts a bold plan into action to go against it's allies to save the day but end up just attacking for no reason. Atlantis canceled because these guys thought this would be better for the Fans....

    What a flop....6/10
    (Sigh)

No mention of Jonas Quinn or what happened to Langara because of the Ori. I could understand leaving the fate of Atlantis open, but...

Sorry, I was out of town today, had to make a 10 hour round trip drive for family reasons so wasn't here to make the thread. Thanks for assisting. Next week I'll resume my regularly scheduled grading thread.

I can't even remember anymore, but weren't SG teams numbered? Or did they just decide to make everyone a part of SG-1?

And yeah, the lack of any resolution to Jonas (he never existed!!!!) and Atlantis was a bit wacky.

I don't think the writers watched any of the other Stargate shows. They had a rough idea of what they were like (so they could flub lines like the "SG-1 teams...") But also there was the relationship at the end seasons of SGA between McKay and Keller.

In this episode, David tried to convice McKay to Join the Destiny team. The writers made it seem as if McKay never had a relationship, as if this was the McKay from several seasons back.

There is also this impression that McKay has come out of a time warp. In all this time he has never changed. This is more proof that the writers don't watch the other SG shows.

Almost all of the SGU writers were also SG-1 and SGA writers. Tellingly though, Remi Aubuchon (co-creator of Caprica) who wrote this episode was not.

Don't immediately blame the writers. The director or actor who spoke the line could have messed up the SG-1 thing and it just could have gone unnoticed.

It's SG-U not SG-1 or Atlantis, he's just a guest character, it's not meant to catch you up on what's been happening in the rest of Stargate.

I was very disappointed. I think I'm generous to give the show a 4. They didn't connect to the Destiny just as I expected. Rush gets trapped in a mind fuck and I'm so sick of that from just about every other scifi show, but especially Star Trek. Even if the gate connected in a temporary fashion the Mckay/Telford crew didn't bring anything they could even send that was important. We know they weren't going to send McKay.

I liked how they used the stones to take over the people on the planet they infiltrated. That was about it. The episode was really just to broom out the detris of the two dead ladies to return to the status quo of gloomy despair with no progress. They didn't even use the ladies' access to the computer to learn anything about the ship. It was just a fuck machine for Rush and Eli who didn't even get any.
