Sheen, "voluntarily enters rehab center"

Charlie is out of control. This is gonna have a bad end. I don't think he really realizes the more that he continues to rant and comment to the media the more fodder he is providing to them, or maybe he does and he's crazy like a fox, I seriously doubt that though. Someone needs to get a hold of him and calm him down. I don't think there is any one around him, including his own family who is capable of doing that.

My husband made a funny last night when we were watching the Oscars. When I saw Robert Downey Jr, I said, "NOW, he's an example of getting his shit together and making a career for himself". My husband said, "You know, this is probably all some big plan by Charlie Sheen to make everybody think he's really lost it; we'll all write him off, he'll disappear for a few months, come back clean, well behaved and really bust his ass working. Then he can say he pulled an RDJ".

At some point you have to wonder is it the drugs, is it an act to garner attention/sympathy/whatever or has he just completely lost it and truly is insane. I've been working on the assumption it was the drugs but I'm starting to wonder if he really hasn't gone bat shit crazy.

It's the drugs.... I hope...

He wants a fucking raise pretty much just to buy more drugs and whores!

Even if he isn't doing any right this second, they fucked up his head so much I don't think he knows what is his ass and what is his hand.

I find it great fun, it's great comedy, much more than his shit show, and as long as he doesn't end up dead soon (which is highly likely he will) this will be great fun for quite awhile.

Well I kind of figure it's the drugs. I'm a big Johnny Cash fan and I've read a lot of biographies on him, plus two of his autobiographies, and clearly drugs made him do a lot of crazy stuff throughout the years. So yeah "Drugs are bad m'kay."

But Charlie seems to be taking this to a whole new level of crazy. He's starting to make Gary Bussey look sane by comparison.

And I agree, I don't think this ends well. It is entertaining, but I feel a little guilty about being entertained because we're watching a human being self destruct right before our eyes. I'll be shocked if he makes it through 2011.

Charlie is on a big roll these days, taking the offensive in the press and showing us just how crazy he is.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110228/ap_on_en_tv/us_people_sheen

"Sheen boasted about his "epic" partying, said he's fueled by "violent hatred" of his bosses, said he cleaned up from drugs at home at his "Sober Valley Lodge" and said he's "tired of pretending I'm not a total, bitchin' rock star from Mars."

A Total Bitchin' Rock Star From Mars.

I want that on my tombstone....

If it will fit, that's my new user title.

A couple other "highlights" from that article:

The run I was on made Sinatra, Flynn, Jagger, Richards just look like droopy-eyed armless children.

"I am on a drug," Sheen said. "It's called Charlie Sheen. It's not available because if you try it you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body."

He is so totally off the rails, he can't even see them from where he is.

Oh, he passed Cruise ages ago. Cruise just believes things with conviction that most of us think are silly, and he gets a little manic occasionally. Sheen is not on this planet.

It really reads as if Sheen's on a terror-fueled manic detox. About the only thing actively taking drugs would do at this moment is calm him down a little.

Sheen is not on this planet.

So Tom Cruise is now jealous? ;)

Cruise is nutty, but so are all serious cult followers. However I don't see him harming self or others.

Sheen is a week away from going on a shooting rampage and blowing up CBS studios. Honestly if I was CBS or someone Sheen knew I would be worried for my own life right now.

No doubt. One of the recurring themes in these recent rants seems to be a fixation on violence and "war" and how he's going to destroy people. One would like to think it's just rhetoric but he's so far gone who knows?

Yeah. I'm loving it right now because I think it's funny as hell and entertaining, however there is a point coming where someone will die (most likely Sheen) and then it stops being funny. The show's creator says "I'll be pissed if Sheen outlives me" and Sheen goes this crazy? How much further can he fall?

I just watched most of the TMZ interview from today and as someone whose dad died of a drug overdose, I can honestly say that if he doesn't get SERIOUS help now, he's going to die. I can tell just by looking at him exactly what drugs he's doing right now. When you've watched someone close to you do these things, it becomes easy to tell a cocaine high from a pill high, etc. We didn't have the money or resources to do for my dad what needed to be done. Top that off with the fact that my dad was a "man is the king of his castle" kind of guy so NO ONE was going to tell him what to do, ever.

I was already an adult and married when it happened to my dad, not that it makes it any easier. Along with the fact that my dad was dead, the worst thing was that we couldn't just mourn for him; we were pissed about the things he'd done before he OD'd, I was pissed at the mess he left my mom with, also embarrassed about people finding out what had happened.

The way Charlie Sheen is acting on that interview from today is almost EXACTLY how I remember my dad from not too long before he OD'd; so close, in fact, that it creeped me out enough to call my mom. She told me, "I thought the same thing when I saw it. I'm afraid it's almost too late for him".

He's a grown man who should know better but from the things I've learned, once the drugs get in there like that, it's the only thing that matters anymore...looking for that next high. It truly is a disease that has to be treated.

I'm tempted to rename this thread to "The Charlie Sheen Meltdown Extravaganza."

Rehab won't do shit if the person themself doesn't realize the problem and wants to fight it.. which Sheen is a miles away from.

Rehab facilities, mostly those who have luxury and "celeb" status, are more like time out zones for celebrities to come down a bit after their publicist and family have convinced them they've really gone too far this time and need a step back.

Most however relapse within months (sometimes even weeks or days) so there's that.

A mile or an inch. It's impossible to tell. Just this kind of panicked defiance is sometimes the last gasp of denial.

Most addicts relapse regardless of their socioeconomic background or the kind of treatment available to them - being rich makes you no more or less likely to stay clean.

Exactly. That's the biggest thing, he has to want to get help and at this point all I hear him saying, in the drug induced haze, is that he's in control. Which is most certainly not the case.
