Equinox - Your Thoughts?

If you subscribe to multiverse theory then even if someone did go back in time and kill Hitler it wouldn't change anything.

I tried subscribing to multiverse theory...but i had to do it retroactively and it never worked...

Janeway was about as out of character in Equinox 2, as she was in Night, locking herself in her ready room, and not talking to anyone for weeks.

Dude those were the only two moments she got to take a good look at herself.

Through introspection first and then finding her evil twin skippy.

In almost every other adventure she never had to take measure or account for her actions and decisions, those two moments are not just her defining moments but it's also almost anything anyone ever talks about.

I don't think Janeway was out-of-character anytime. She was just damn angry, that someone broke the Prime Directive and Starfleet principles. Well, maybe she was "too angry", but I do understand that. Starfleet was a big deal to her and she went angry, someone just abandoned everything Starfleet is, just to get home a little faster.

I may have mentioned this before here, but I'd really like to know how Ransom thought he'd explain what he'd done to Starfleet when he got home.

I mean, they'd want to know how he got home so quickly, would no doubt ask him about Voyager and the modifications to his own ship - not to mention the wibbly aliens that have chased him all the way to his front door...

She can't do that though, she's a military commander, for her to get that angry suggests she's not cut out for her job.

If a colonel in Iraq or Afghanistan went rogue and another one got so angry he led a platoon out to capture him and bring him to justice, no matter what the cost...

Considering the scummy crap he did to try and get home, somehow I don't think lying would be that much of a stretch, and they'd probably stop off before getting to Earth to undo their modifications and dispose of any evidence.
Then he can just make up some mumbo jumbo about a wormhole etc.

Well, the aliens would still be chasing him. He'd have to explain them, because now, they'd be going for a whole planet full of humans!

And I'm pretty sure Starfleet wouldn't just 'buy' a wormhole story. They'd want to find the wormhole and use it.

They've been gone for 6 years at that point. They could claim the wormhole was found early in their journey, and they had to travel the rest of the way at regular warp. That way the closer end of the wormhole could still be 5000 light years away or so. And I just used the wormhole story as an example anyway. It's quite clear I'm just making shit up as I go here
As for the aliens, they can claim they were attacked unprovoked and haven't been able to shake them. The aliens can't exactly explain the situation themselves, so the Equinox crew can make up whatever story they want.

But were they chasing Equinox?

Considering how easily Voyager was able to get back to talk to the aliens who "worshipped" the space beasties, it's altogether possible that Ransom was flying around in circles "hunting" space beasties filling up his fuel tank and cargo bays before he set a course for open space and earth whereafter he might start running on fumes when they're perhaps half way home...

All they have to do to hide most of ther secrets is skuttle Equinox after they're home, but before they're rescued.

No ship, no evidence.

Imagine if Seven and Rudy got married?

Ransom-Hansom or Hansom-Ransom is quite the tounge twister.
