I could buy that as a legit reason for him snapping more than that idiocy with Padme. However, I'm still rooting for it to be something short of Ahsoka's death. If Anakin thinks the Jedi treated her unfairly, especially after she and Anakin busted their butts for them in their dumbass war, that would fuel his massive resentment of them. She doesn't need to die.I think losing Ahsoka would have just made him snap.
And it could be anything: she falls to the Dark Side and the Jedi tell Anakin to kill her. He refuses. She falls and somehow is redeemed (probably with a lot of help from Anakin) but the Jedi don't trust her, consider her tainted, and cast her into exile. Anakin is furious at their close-mindedness. Or heck, maybe she runs off and joins the Seppys. All sorts of possibilities, this is going to be fun!

Yup, even with the live action series cancelled, they could keep going with animation style.I still think they created the character to survive for the live action series. They have set it up too perfectly.
She'd be in her mid-teens, one of a mere handful of Jedi survivors, cast into a wild, terrible galaxy on her own, maybe with a bit of help every now and then from Obi-Wan or Yoda, constantly on the run and fearful that someone will figure out her dangerous secret...
They've even started lining up a few characters of similar age who would still be around: Jango Fett (whatever became of him?) and the son of Padme's Seppy friend (definitely future Imperial Navy material, yet still smitted with that hot Jedi girl he met once a long time ago).
She might know the identity and location of her former master's supposedly dead children. She'd definitely know the secret of who Vader really is. A confrontation is inevitable.
This is just all too perfect to let go of so quickly.
