^Those are wonderful!

Today I was treated to a special bit of platform entertainment while waiting for the train in the Bronx. A cheerful NYPD officer borrowed some drumsticks from a busker and they played an awesome duet. I just wish I new how to operate the video on my phone!

Which line out of curiosity? I went to college in the Bronx and the 1 train was practically my second home.

Looks like the L to me, judging from the electronic display at the top (the L is, I believe, the only line that has those).

That's great! About a month ago I was treated to a harpist playing beautiful music in the Vermont/Sunset subway station here in LA.

It was! It totally made my day, especially since when the cops initially approached the busker my first thought was that they were going to give him a citation.

Ah, but you are forgetting your trains. The L doesn't go to the Bronx. The L was the first line to have those installed, but lots of lines have them now. I was waiting for the 6.

And now, as NYC braces for another blizzard, the BEST SNOWMAN EVER!

oopsie :alienblush:

I didn't pay attention...forgot you said Bronx! My bad. :p

So the 6 has those displays? Wonder if the 4 does. That would come in handy for me, for reasons that are in my avatar. :D

^Well, the 4 (at least within Manhattan) is the same line as the 6, just express, so for all the shared stops, yes, it does. I'm not sure how far into the Bronx on the 4 the displays go, however.

Garrison Keillor said it best: if he gets to the platform and there's a crowd, it means a train is near - nice to know that much of the job of waiting has been done by other people. :D

Excellent!

Someone brought a full-size, radio-controlled Dalek to the convention I was at on New Year's. (At least, I think it was radio-controlled. There may actually have been someone inside - I'm not sure. But it was definitely speaking to people, and responding to specific things people said, so it wasn't a recorded voice.)

I have a drawing system know as
Autocad 2d/3d 2010.
I am drawing up some ships, some may look familiar, but when they are done, how would I post them on here?
The first one won't be done for a month or so, but do I just printscreen, copy and paste into word, then copy and paste into here?

Autocad probably has an image save-as or export feature (all the other big modeling programs do), so you'd save a .png or .jpg that way. Then you'd upload that somewhere like Imageshack or Photobucket (or even your TrekBBS album), then use the links provided to post the image here.

Also, why wouldn't you post ship designs in the Art forum?

You can PM me with ACAD questions, I have the misfortune of using it all the time at work. I miss the simpler times when engineers actually had drafters to draft stuff for them... :scream: Although Civil 3D is a hell of a lot friendlier than the old LDD was.

You can export it to any number of formats, and I'm sure one of them could be posted here. I just don't have the program in front of me right now (I'm at home) to spit out a command.

Thanks. There is a 300 page how to book with it, but I am not going to take the time to read it, I know the basics of drawing. I actually haven't explored TrekkBBs completely, I could post them in the art forum too I guess.

Though I wouldn't call them art becuase I can't really draw like the pro's yet.

How the heck do you start an album? There should be a manual with this site.
