Warehouse 13

Greg, my wife and I just watched the very first X-Files ep last night, probably for the first time in a decade or so. We were both surprised at how... I don't know... marginal? it seemed. My wife commented that Duchovney and Anderson both seemed like they were reading their lines cold for the first time.

I remember thinking. "Oh. This is just the usual UFO/alien abduction business. Nothing new here."

It wasn't until later that I got hooked.

I've liked it since the beginning, and have season one on DVD.
I'm waiting for is the merchandising to start rolling so I can collect low cost replicas of good quality of the props from the show.
Looking forward season two when it comes to DVD.
Signed

And lots of zippy Claudia goodness . . . .

Zippy Claudia goodness is the best thing currently on television. The show would be dead without it.

Scagliotti has the potential to be huge--way more so than the previous genre Allisons.

She's also very well read for someone her age, which can only help her cause.

Warehouse 13 is currently one of my favorite shows. It has great characters played by very interesting character actors; the character interactions alone are worth watching the show for. The stories are generally clever and they're slowing building a very interesting universe. One of the best things about the show is that they seldom resort to using a "villain." Most of the stories are about how somebody is affected by coming into contact with an artifact. Unlike a lot of what's on television today, it has a very humanistic heart.

^True, the show definitely has it's own "universe;" I do like that about it. Also, the constant banter/bickering between them is very family-like and very believable. It makes the characters very likable.

I particularly like the father/daughter vibe with Artie and Claudia.

I agree, the Artie/Claudia relationship is one of the best parts of the show.

The banter between Pete and what's-her-name is too juvenile for me. I thought at first they were so quarrelsome it was unpleasant. Then I realized I liked Eureka better when the villain of the week half the time really was trying to kill someone (or at least commit some other crime) so that can't be it. Apparently I've gotten tired of the steampunk.

Yeah, but as a poster on this board, you gotta appreciate the ST shoutouts from the show, right?

I mean, Pete being so happy that Myka knows what a redshirt is? I thought that was great. Both Myka knowing and Pete being happy about it.

And actually the antagonism between Myka and Pete lightens up considerably once you get past the first few eps. Myka, in particular, loosens up and becomes a lot more fun. Nowadays they have a nice, teasing brother-sister vibe.

I like how they did this. When I saw the first episode, it seemed like the stereotypical buddy cop thing, with Myka being all uptight and by the book, and Pete being fun and instinctual, but over time it's become more playful and very much like a family. And then they have some really nice moments between them, such as in Age Before Beauty.

The "not a fantasy fan" followed by "except Harry Potter". It blows my mind for some reason.

Confuses me too but just the way it is.

I am trying to download more season 1 episodes but the torrent I found is taking forever!
Any pointers?
