Enjoying it but...

Carol getting angry causes the hive mind to have a melt down with deadly consequences ok. But they mentioned that when the zoos were opened big cats mauled some people, surely the shock and trauma of that would be far worse on the hive mind than a woman having a tantrum?

They are displaying a curious kind of fatalism. No concern about what their actions have on themselves. I wonder if individual lives have any real value to the hive mind? Once their memories and experiences are in the hive they are maintained and apparently never lost.

It would be interesting to find out if the others losing their rag (because they must sometimes surely) also affects the hive mind or if its just Carol for some reason.
