I'm teaching him to recognize airplanes. It's going pretty well! :D

Gingerbread Girl, that apple pie looks very yummy! :)

Here are some more pictures from the convention I was at on the weekend.

At Friday night's dance, the DJ started with 1950s music and progressed through the decades. During the 70s portion, he played the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive," so of course I had to strike a Travolta pose:

The hat actually belongs to the guy in grey dancing next to me - I only had it on for about five minutes. (I do want to get one, though. I saw some nice ones when I was at the Boxing Day sales, but didn't get one then.)

After the dance, as one of the fundraising events for Epilepsy Toronto, two members of the committee had volunteered to be painted on Thursday night. One of them, along with a third committee member, volunteered to be written on with Sharpees on Friday, following the dance. The one who did the Sharpee event only was my Polaris Programming department co-head, so of course I couldn't resist.

Here I am watching as two other members of the Programming department take their turn:

The girl on the left had written "Programming Bitch" across his stomach, so I added "Lance's" in front of that (at their suggestion, actually):

One of his closest friends is a guy named Dave, so here I am giving him a tramp stamp that reads, "I'm sorry, Dave, I can't do that."

The guy behind me in the kilt is Dave Farrow, the current Guinness World Record holder for Greatest Memory. He's able to correctly recall the order of 59 shuffled decks of cards - 3068 cards in total. (Though that's kind of hard to depict in a picture thread.)

And here I'm admiring everyone's handiwork:

On Saturday morning, author J.M. Frey did a reading. In her book, the aliens express their emotions with their cat-like ears (at least, that's what I'm told - I didn't actually make it to the reading as it was too early in the morning). She distributed ears to everyone to wear:

My Mom's Nutcracker collection, which she hauls out every Christmas. I put them away for her this year, and it took me about an hour.

^Thanks. December was quite a rollercoaster for me, and it hasn't been a week into January, but it's already hectic! Life is awesome.

Its like a tiny army that is destined to take over the world.
Kinda like the movie, toy soldiers.
