Blackberry or iPhone or wait until Dec. for Windows Phone 7?

Are iPhones still AT&T only, or have they finally gotten out of that deal? If they're not exclusive to AT&T anymore, I might look into an iPhone when it's time for me to upgrade.

Eventually the iPhone will be available with other carriers, but I wouldn't hold my breath just now.

^ Thanks. They definitely sound like they'd be good.

I'll recommend the Incredible unequivocally.

The Samsung Galaxy line is also quite good.

Between the top Android contenders and the iPhone 4, there aren't too many ways to go wrong with a new smartphone purchase. I'm not sold on WP7 though. I used a demo unit yesterday in the store and was entirely underwhelmed.

Thats the thing, with Smart phones today you really can't pick wrong. What you have to decide, what functions are important to you and choose the one that best match that. For me, the iPhone works best. While I don't hate ATT, I don't love it either. Once the iPhone is on another carrier, hopefully Verizon I will switch to Verizon. Competition in the Smart phone category can only help us. I will force each company to improve and innovate quicker. This means better phones for us, no matter which one you choose.

Actually, I just read a story on Yahoo last night about this very issue. Apparently the iPhone will be coming to Verizon sometime around spring or summer next year.

I'd go with the iPhone 4.

I've had mine now for 2 months and its been awesome. Super quick, all the apps you could think of, all the latest features you could need and its never crashed or rebooted itself etc. Can't really find anything that I don't like about it.

Anyone have a problem with the iPhone's keyboard? I was messing around on a student's iPhone and had a really hard time typing on it. Someone else had a slider keyboard, and I found that much easier.

Is iPhone typing something with a learning curve, or do I just have impossibly clumsy fingers?

It is a bit of a learning curve, but after a short while it works pretty good. After more than three years I'm still amazed by the auto-correction - as long as I stick with English.-

Yeah the keyboard will take a few days to get used to, but once you do its quite easy. The auto-correction comes up with some funny suggestions sometimes, but most of the time it works well and can easily anticipate what word you are trying to type.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, I didn't want to start a clone of it... :shifty:

So now that WP7 phones are starting to come out on the market, is anyone impressed? Does anyone own one?

I would like to know if, like Symbian3 devices, these phones can read external flash memory cards or HDDs. Does anyone know? :)

Personally, I'm drifting towards an iPhone now. My wife got a hand-me down one after Christmas, and it seems to be working out pretty well for us. I'm waiting to see if AT&T offers any kind of deals after they start getting competition from Verizon before I pull the trigger, though.
