Slim to none, my friend. Maybe if they made a cartoon, you might hear the familiar voices reprise their roles. As I understand it, haven't most of the TNG regulars lent their voices to various ST video games?
It's really not dead. As long as we remember it.
I was one of the few who LIKED Nemesis. I thought it was pretty good, had some holes, but brought closure to the series. I didn't care much for the entire B4 subplot...
Interesting, I didn't see it that way. I agree Urban did a great job with McCoy, but I don't think Quinto got Spock right at all, and I thought Pine's character was more generic punk, juvenile delinquent than Captain Kirk.
But this is off topic.
I don't see anything wrong with a special on TV, focusing on a reunion voyage on the TItan where Riker is commander. They could do it without Stewart, I think Frakes can carry it by himself.
Sir Patrick Stewart has said he is too old to play a starship captain, but what is the opportunity of one last hurrah, with all of the cast?
The focus, understandably, is on Abrams' Trek, but a TNG last hurrah could wrap up 24th century Trek, and allow a good basis for a Trek series in the 25th or even 26th century.
Is this just wishful thinking?![]()
Unfortunately, TOS's HD remaster was much easier than a potential TNG HD remaster would be. I'm sure it will happen, but it's going to be much more of a challenge than was TOS.I'd even settle for a remastered TNG, if they were wiling to do that. I LOVED what they did with TOS.![]()
How about an epic TNG - A Final Unity style game with all the actors as voice actors? PS3 and XBox are amazing platforms to do such a thing (think of Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Mass Effect or Red Dead Redemption. Free exploration in the game world, and every mission comes with a long cut scene with great performances. They could basically realize a high quality TNG movie script within such a game).
I did not like any of the TNG films. I wont watch any of them. I liked all the TOS films except for ST:V, but even that film was better than any of the TNG ones. I'll re-watch all the TOS movies from time to time, but never the TNG ones.
The problem is that Patrick Stewart probably would not want to do it as he has moved on in his career, which he should. Stewart (like the rest of the human race and God Himself) hated the way Nemesis came out and more or less publically stated that this was his last Star Trek film project. He moved on to X-Men.
Brent Spiner has stated that he is too old to be Data, who is an android and thus timeless and not ageless. But I think he and most of the other actors would jump on board immediately. Frakes would scream like a little school girl at the prospect of another big movie payday.
The 2009 film had a stupid storyline. Romulus gets destroyed, crazy Romulan goes back in time with planet killing machine who changed time while looking for Spock, for whom Mr. Romulan dude blamed for Romulus' destruction. Then Kirk becomes a Captain of the flagship when he is still a cadet? Honestly, this was the best storyline they could of come up with?
TNG is done.
Hey, they should gather all the characters who got shafted, sucked, and/or had shitty writing and make a film. You know, Hoshi Sato at Communications, Travis Mayweather at the conn, Harry Kim at Ops, Kes as Chief Medical Officer, and Tasha Yar at Tactical, all voyaging on the USS Forgettable. Commanding officer? Chakotay.
