Why did you choose your login name and avatar?

I chose my name because I'm boring and unoriginal. :) My avatar is a grayscaled image of a model of the U.S.S. Enterprise sitting on my filing cabinet, against the backdrop of a framed picture of the Empire State Building hanging on the wall behind it.

star scream, I have to ask...I don't get the fuzzy handcuffs and whip image....

It sounds like you want "your man" to treat you like some kind of slave (a whip? a WHIP?)....

What gives?

I was a bit short in the imagination department when I combined my first name and US state of residence to form my user name. I use it in some other forums too, and am probably a little obvious if anybody uses it for a Google search.

The Avatar is a screen capture from the unaired remake of Irwin Allen's The Time Tunnel. In the remake the project staff struggle to repair damage to history that result from people shifted through time by a wandering wormhole that was an unintended side effect of an advanced power generating experiment. Their repair missions are constrained to departure and retrieval times when the tunnel can link to the wandering wormhole.

Where is a facepalm picture when you need one? :shifty:

And since we are chatting about login names, what is a "diddo"? Because the assonance with a peculiar instrument of pleasure is quite amusing.

My friend. Sense of humor is important here. ;)

My man, my real man, treats me like a queen just as I am duly respectful of him.

I am merely joking. I can't say if you are or not... but just in case you believe that I might want that, I'll clarify that it's all in good fun.

Now, if you were joking as well... You need to know that the fuzzy handcuffs and whip are not to be used on me. I am too dominant to be a slave. ;)

Party pooper. :p

^Ah...! I see.

Wait. So you're the one using the...?

Okay. I am NOT going anywhere near this woman. I don't trust her!

Sir...it requires a passing knowledge of a certain radio show you would rather dig out your own lungs with a spork than listen to. ;)

But--since we both know I'll never get the satisfaction of either happening any time soon:

"For those o' you in Rio Linda"...when Maha Rushie first started the show, every day had at least one caller who just called to gush and "Thank you--thank you--thank you, sir, for providing such a breath of fresh air, and showing us that we're not alone!" etc. Later on those same days, subsequent callers would start with, "Hey, dittos to what the other guy just said!"

Ever since then, a traditional greeting fans have for him when calling is "Mega-dittos, Rush!"

In case you're wondering...the idea for "dittodrone" came from some TNZ punk who used the term to poke fun at my standard name. I kinda liked it...and logged it in my mind for future reference.

As for the misspelling...well, either I had an unfortunate brief mental lapse when requesting the name change (which I don't remember having)...or T'Bonz/T'Boo is overworked.

Probably both.

I am sitting here trying to decipher your tone as you express this. Are you being facetious? Are you being serious? I can't decide, honestly.

I am always being facetious when referencing fuzzy handcuffs, whips and leather. ALWAYS. That's the fun of this... being able to joke harmlessly.

I assure you, you are in no danger. I only play with those who want to participate in this silly banter. I have no designs to turn my dark humor on you. You have nothing to fear. :techman:

(Uh...frankly, I'm amazed you didn't get I was playing the "straight man". I thought it was obvious to me....)

Hey--you wouln't have been able to "torment" a rigid, cold-hearted celibate guy like me, no matter how hard you've tried!

^^It's obvious to you since you know in what context you're typing. Not always obvious to the reader.

And are you issuing a challenge there? Be very careful. You might live to regret that. :p

Ah, so it's just a misspelling. I was hoping for a more fanciful explanation.

(ps: a quick search shows it was you having a mental fart: T'Bonz's record is spotless. :p)

^ ah, searches can be altered. The real dirt comes from asking her friends. >.>

Well, I chose my Hallowe'en name because (a) it's alliterative and (b) a rapier is a weapon I think Jack the Ripper used to kill his victims. My current avatar? Just plain ole cheekiness.

My original name, Red Ranger, is an homage to a goofy character in a goofy series, the Power Rangers, as I try not to take myself too seriously.

Somewhere in the Old Testament I read something like: "thou art soooo SPOCKED!!" Or maybe it was a lyric from Genesis' Abacab. Whatever. It stuck.

I'm pretty sure they were written about the same time in history. :ouch:

The Username Flukie was acquired by killing and eating the previous owner of said Username.

Avatars, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention.

Tomalak is one of my favorite Star Trek characters (Star Trek had many great guest stars like Katsulas, Sloyan, and Combs among others) and I'm a big sports fan and the Giants are in the playoffs, so that's the avatar I'm going by these days. It will switch to the Sharks later.
