Why did you choose your login name and avatar?

Because I'm a dork, I thought it would be cool to go with my username because throughout all of Ian Fleming's original 007 novels, there never appeared a 005. 001, 002, 003, etc ... even a 0012! But never a 005. Always wondered why that was, then I hit upon it. He was too busy trolling nerds and idiots in TNZ do be of any value to MI6.

In retrospect, I wish I'd registered with my other oft-used username, and I actually had changed it here for a while a few years ago ... but people still referred to me as doubleoh, 005, etc. so before long I just reverted back to it. I figured, why the hell not.

This was the name I used on the PsiPhi DS9 board many years back during the last year of the show's run... just because I like kestrels. Also there might've been something to do with the old Starship Troopers: Battlespace online game from the old Gamestorm days (the Kestrel was the smallest ship type).

When I finally de-lurked here in 2008, it was either this or PseudoDragon (my Classic Battletech forum handle); Kestrel won for the Trek-forum connection.

My av? Well, I'm a Quaker, and at least ostensibly a pacifist, and that particular image is one you'll find in Quaker circles a lot.

Big Daddy was a nickname of mine 4-5 years ago. It was a joke between friends and classmates because I HATED children (and now I just hate parents), so they called me daddy. It was before the video game character and I didn't know about the wrestler. It evolved from Big Daddy as a southern dad, big daddy as I was 175 pounds and in really great shape, so it was a muscle thing, and from Sugar Daddy because I like younger guys, , however I hate sugar daddies too.

Now that I think about it, I probably should change it.

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, much? :guffaw:

Mine is because I was feeling lazy and not at all creative. My name is TJ and I live in Los Olivos, California. TJ in LO, CA. *yawn*

Although next year we're moving to Northern Virginia, so I just might have to become TJinNoVA! :D

My name's Seán. I'm tall (6'6" approx) and thin and was born in 1971. My first avatar here was BSG's Boomer who has the same initials and build as I do, amongst other reasons. Current one is VampWillow from Buffy. No explanation necessary, I would think.

I am Surak because Surak's Katra was transferred to me during a shift in the time-space continuum while watching ENT's "The Forge" arc.
Surak and I have an agreeable time together and are celebrating the festival of lights with a Vulcan twist.

I wanted the name of a female character whom we don't hear about too often, and Tora Ziyal has always been one of my favorites. The only time I can remember crying watching Star Trek was when she died.

My Halloween name was Kreacher because I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, and Kreacher seemed appropriately creepy and, again, one of the less known characters. And O Holy Night is my favorite Christmas carol.

So you're switching from TJin "crazy" (loca) to TJin "doesn't go" (no va)? ;)

When I first registered, I went by the_andorian. Sounded suitably Trekkish to me. Then I realized that on a board filled with Trek Themed names...it was bland. So, since I am a singer, I decided something to reflect that was in order. Hence, Major Chord. The av is a musical key signature, in major. Come Halloween, I change the name to Minor Chord, and the av becomes that of a minor key.

A) I usually use this username just about everywhere I sign up. Which is a lot of places. So here I am, the PianoWizzy.
B) I have designed and drawn up avatars of all shapes, sizes, colors, features. Having recently become a Trek fan, I had drawn up my character [of PianoWizzy] in a TOS science uniform dress. Thus my avatar. :D

On some other boards I just go by "Nards" instead of the one I use here which sounds more offensive than I'd like.

Hunter is my name B is my last name initial and 5446 refers to a Sublime song. "5446 What's My Number." It's one of my favorite songs. It refers to a time Bradley Knowles was in jail. His number in jail was 5446. I like it because we are all just numbers in this world. My avatar changes from time to time. The one I had before was Jeff Lebowski saying, "like, that's just your opinion man." or something like that. My signature seemed fitting and speaks for itself. My avatar now is just for the Christmas season. Years ago I went by Obi-Wan-Can-Blow-Me on theforce.net back when episode 2 was coming out. I thought it was funny, but Obiwan is my favorite Star Wars character, so I decided to let it go.

Both of mine are quite simple, in comparison to some. But my username is just my name with a number that used to be mine at a previous job. My avatar doesn't really need much explaining but I love McCoy and DeForest Kelley.

Mine come from my interests and personality.

A friend once compared me to a Satyr and it kinda stuck as an unofficial nickname.
The 'quaze' comes from my favorite comicbook character: Quasar.

I stuck them together as such on another forum a few years ago and I've used it ever since.

A PC Game from 2000 - Tachyon the Fringe is where I got my user name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tachyon:_The_Fringe

In the game you controlled a fighter spaceship and in one level the enemies were called Dart ships.

I joined here at the time of playing the game and used that name.

BTW Bruce Campbell did the voicework in the game and it made the game playable for a few hours anyway.

Well, as of Dec. 3rd, I'm using a Christmas name, Red Reindeer, because I like Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer. My avatar at this moment is Brad Pitt as Lt. Aldo Raine from Inglorious Basterds because his scalping ways are the opposite of holiday cheer!
