TV Stars Who Could Play Superman? Tom Welling in Consideration?

Batman Begins had four previously established villains in it, five if you count Joe Chill. It's not about quantity, it's about how they're used.

Then again, we have Batman Returns, Batman and Robin, Batman Forever, Spider-man 3....

I wonder if Brainiac kills one of the Kents and they are trying to give Clark a mix between a Batman and Spider-man reason for putting on the costume.

My money is on Jonathan Kent. Just like the death in the recent Johns Braniac arc in AC.

Batman Returns draws strongly mixed reactions. Some, like me, think it's an awesome film.

BATMAN RETURNS is a fascinating mess. The story makes no sense whatsover, but it's a gorgeous film with great performances and many ravishing moments.

I'd rather watch it than any number of coherent-but-uninspired movies . . . .

It works on the basis of a twisted dreamscape rather than anything resembling a tightly plotted story in a more conventional sense.

Yes, but surely the point is that Chris Nolan wasn't involved with those movies. He was involved with Begins. That ought to be an indicator of how well he can use the multiple villains.

Not a bad description!

So... you want the new Superman movie to suck? :p

Cops and gangs make it sound as though they're recycling the Nolan Batman formula. Sounds iffy beyond words to me...

Not sure I follow you, but I do note the smiley.

Dunno, a corrupt Metropolis being manipulated by Lex's criminal gangs could be interesting. Or would y'all prefer more land deals?!

Greg, a slaphead is indeed a follicly challenged man.

First of all if there's going potential spoilers itwould nice to get tagged. That bieng said though I'm itching for any info on this movie. I like the idea of Luthor playing a more sinister role that doesent involve real estate. I don't mind Luthor bieng involved at all as long he's not dominating the movie. This really needs to be a Braniac movie. This does sound like the Batman formula, but I trust Nolan to not make it so dark. I also trust him to balance the multy villians. If this report is true then it sounds good to me. This also sounds like a good way to aproach the realism factor and posibly intergrate the Batman universe into this one.

All right, I'll elaborate. BB sucked.

I've already said what I'd prefer. ;) :)

^ agreed whole heartidly, that's why I see Braniac as a good villian. From what I remember is Braniac was aware if Krypton's impending doom and basicaly said fuck that and went independent. What I'm hoping is that Braniac escaped at the same time as Kalel was bieng sent to Earth, then because downloads himself into robot/human form. I hope that he is dormant and Luthor finds out about Braniac and tries to use him for his own purposes, but finds out that Braniac is sentient. Braniac then run a muck. Much lke they dealt with him on Smallville. That would be my ideal scenerio for the next Superman film. I want Supes to face a real challenge that requires brain along with brawn. Clark is not as smart as Bruce, but he's no dummy niether.

"Brainiac" is, imo, a stupid name, not fit for the big screen. "Vril Dox" is somewhat better, though still not great...

If the X-Men movies got away with "Magneto," I suspect "Brainiac" will fly in a SUPERMAN movie.

I mean, it's not like "Superman" is exactly subtle or sophisticated.

And what about "Luke Skywalker" . . . ? Nah, that would never work . . . . :)
