Damn! It's hot!

I've been absolutly ill in this heat (at home, at work there's air) with a total of 43C with humidity (GTA). I'm praying that the thunderstorm forcast for tomorrow alliviates this mess! :ack:

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the news I was listening to this morning has the heatwave over Ontario locked in until Friday.

We lost power this afternoon so no a/c. One neighbor started his generator and while I was out on the deck with a movie on my laptop, my other neighbor said he heard RI was in a blackout   I was wondering if I was going to be in for a long, HOT night. Then two NStar trucks rolled by and 15 minutes later power was back. Dodged a bullet this time :)

Why is it when its cold you want wamth and when its warm you want back the cold?
It is SO hot! We have temperatures between 35 and 40 degree Celsius. And it is humid. If it goes on like this I think I may not survive this weather. OK.... that might be a bit overdramatic ... but really just a little bit! ;)
I can understand why some hot countries have a siesta time...but if its like this I would need such a time from 10 AM to 10 PM at least, before I can get any work done...and even the nights are too hot.

Ahhhh... sweet, sweet coolness.

We're down to 18C/64F here in Sudbury right now. It's like God turned on the air conditioner, or something. Though the humidity is still 94 per cent.

Here in Czech the temperatures are around +34 or +36 Celcius during the day..and at night around +20 Celcius.
And the weather is also quite humid. The worst thing is that theres almost no wind at all.
I just visited my folks in Finland and there the temperatures where around +26 Celcius and much less humid.
Im not going to complain too much though..and try to enjoy the summer as long as it lasts...even though im sweating a lot:lol::cool:

Remember to drink plenty of fluids..and avoid too much alchohol, because it dehydrates you
:)

It's currently 32 here in Ottawa, and 42 on the humidex.
We don't have a “humidex” in Southern California. I assume it means the combined effect of heat and humidity -- the converse of wind-chill factor.
That's the idea. I've heard it called the heat index.

Temps here in the valley are forecast to be hovering round 100F/38C here.

Six months ago when it was summer here. Average during around December was around 26C. But January and Februrary, there were somedays which reached 40C. Quite a few. Right now I'm happy with 19C (66F)

Wow. And I thought I had it bad. Sounds more like this where most of you are.

It's been hot here, in Oklahoma for a couple of weeks, but a cold front came early Monday morning and dumped some rain. We're slated to be below 90º through next Monday with nightly lows in the lower 70's and even upper 60's. The humidity, of course, is up due to the rain, but the cooler nights make it more bearable. I'm running a fan in the bedroom and wish my Big Boy didn't have a burned out motor; otherwise, I could keep the entire house cool with the amount of air it can push.
It's nice to not be the hottest place in the country for a change.

Let me put it this way ... it's a promo for the nightly news: "Well, we might actually be under 100 for day, but then it's back up."

Yeah, 7-day forecast is all triple-digits. Again.

Humidex and Heat Index are not the same thing exactly. They are similar, but are computed totally differently.
