I'm vaguely thinking about breaking the habit of a lifetime and actually doing some exercise, given that from August or so I'll no longer be working for anyone so will have the time to do it without feeling robbed of precious time off. Running seems a good option, being free, easily scalable from a very slow/short start, and won't cause me to put on bulk (important, because I don't want re-tailoring costs). I do worry about the impact stress of running though, so the idea of finding a good pair of shoes that won't lead to me fucking up my joints and promotes good alignment is important to me.
