I bought my Dad some DVDs of stand up comedians. He's really ill and very weak, so I thought he could use a good laugh. I picked up some Eddie Izzard, Lewis Black and Gabriel Iglesias. I hope he likes it.

For myself, I bought a few books.
Two were by Terry Pratchett, One by David Weber, one by Nelson DeMille, one by Cliver Cussler and one by Jeffrey Deaver
I recently have gotten caught up with several editions of Ultimate X-Men. Over the last month, bought volumes 1-5 at Barnes & Noble, then decided to buy volumes 5, 7, & 8 at Amazon.com for less money. Interesting how some of the plotlines mirror the movies. The art from the Kubert brothers (for the most part) has been gorgeous. Some of the dialogue is stilted, and really like the new, quirkier version of Storm.
I also bought a new summer fedora. Here's a pic of me wearing it at a friend's picnic, as well as wearing a guayabera.

I spent about $100 on brushes, oil paints, canvasses, a palette, gum spirits... I never painted a picture before in my life, but suddenly needed to do so. Let's hope I'm good enough to justify the expenditure!

I went to the $1.25 Store this morning and got a gift bag for the bris gift I crocheted (yarmulke, bib and booties set).
They sell 3-packs of comics from the 80s and 90s, so I picked up two packs for kicks. Got three others last week. I'm ending up with a really, really weird collection. My favorite part is reading the old ads, getting nostalgic.

I brought a weekend pass to Supanova, next weekend.
Not at all, I don't think the taxes apply to clothes. I did get hit by them when I got my latest cell phone from... oh... was it Singapore? Hong Kong? I don't remember.
I had already ordered another item from the Bioware store and I didn't run into any taxes then either.
The shipping costs half of what the item costs, granted, but other than that: not a blessed thing.
