FF started out awesome, but I knew it was too high concept to be a long running, multiyear TV series. It would work better as a miniseries or maybe a 12-13 episode maxiseries. By putting a 6 month end date/reckoning for the characters, that pretty much limited the show IMO.
Plus, I think the focus has been on the wrong character, Mark, when it should be on Demetri, who is facing a life and death situation. That's much more compelling than waiting for Mark to fall off the wagon and for Olivia to cheat on him.
Though I like Rambo dad, I don't care about the medic and the Japanese girl, the hospital volunteer/babysitter, or most of the other side characters. Except for Rambo dad, the other side stories aren't that interesting to keep me watching. And the focus on them feels like padding to just spread out the story more than it needs to be.
This show went from much watch to sometimes watch to I'll check it out on hulu when I remember to do so, and that's only because the last episode I saw was Rambo dad declaring a vendetta on that Blackwateresque dude.
