Captain America on new US penny.

I'm surprised they're still minting pennies at all. I mean, what can you buy for a penny these days? Pennies are more trouble than they're worth. They just wear a hole in your pocket. I don't see why prices couldn't be rounded to the nearest nickel and pennies withdrawn from circulation.

When Captain America throws his mighty shield, all those who chose to oppose his shield must yield. :bolian:

I'm still convinced that was written by Bob Dylan....

Blame Illinois.

penny's already cost more to make than they are worth.. there are a bajillion in circulation... why even make more?

They should stop making them. Then they'd be worth more than they're worth. Er... yeah.

Well, it'd be a way to boost the economy that way if everything gost 1-4 cents more. ;)

When I saw the penny reverse the first thing that came to mind was the Interstate Highway System.

Well, not really, but I think his shield is on the back.

So what does this mean?
The shield motif isn't exactly new.

Ugly!

They had dozens of designs and picked the ugliest one. It turned out that looked like Nazi money so they pick the second ugliest design!

Also as a coin collector you can't get rid of the penny, you don't want to piss off the collectors because they buy a roll of 50 cents for $.50 plus shipping!
