ENT. I believe if ENT was on The CW...it would have continued with ratings enough to keep it on the air...it being on UPN with The WB as a rival...no wonder it was axed...serious shows on UPN & WB were just in fighting each other...no other Network.

What's sad is, the finale would have been on a year ago. We would've got to see who future guy was (I suspected a mirror Daniels), the crew's true fates, and the Vulcan transformation as we know it in the 23rd-24th century. Too bad that Enterprise couldn't have moved to the CW back to back with Smallville.

    No, you wouldn't have.

Les Moonves was determined to get this show canned and make UPN (and subsequently, the CW) the go-to network for the young and hip. Enterprise's ratings was as good an excuse as any to get rid of it, and the more I read about the behind the scenes stuff, the less convinced I am that the show would have gotten a fifth season even if ratings had improved.

^ I don't think Moonves cared about young and hip as much as ratings and income. He'd much rather have a cheaper than cheap show that had a ton of ratings ... in other words a reality show. (He helped create reality tv. Aren't we lucky.)

A year ago?? So it would have ran for 10 years???

I must be the only Enterprise fan that's come to a finality with the four years the show had. It was a good run, not a fantastic run, but I don't think a successful Trek series needs to be held to the "7 year rule." They did plenty in the 4 years it was on.

This. Plus there was the thread somewhere (probably the BSG forum) that mentioned NuBSG, for all it's success and critical acclaim was actually getting less Neilson ratings than Enterprise did, and they also had a decent run. Of four seasons (the new lucky number for sci-fi series'). Enterprise dipped and bobbed around the 4 million mark I believe, correct me if I'm wrong. Plenty of shows get waaaaaaay less viewers. Depending on how much stock you take in Neilson's antiquated rating system [massive eye roll].

I myself wonder if the show would have been good for a fifth season... I'm a huge TNG fan but their 6th and 7th seasons are few and far between for good episodes.

    SHRAN.

I would have enjoyed it even if they went back to the slower story lines of Season 1 if Shran was on the bridge.

I certainly won't argue with that. Shran added value to all the episodes he was in. Coombs is a terrific actor.
