Most people have seen me lurking around the Voyager and General/Lounge areas but here I am. A new TGN fan. Watched up to about half of S2 and I'm loving it. This Q is waaay cooler and the borg are kicking names and taking a$$es!

In addition to being a DS9 fan I love TNG. It's what got me into Star Trek. Glad to be here!

I've watched TNG about 10 times over, Voyager about 3 times over and I'm just getting into DS9 after years of snubbing it. Nothing will change my mind about "Enterprise" though. It's rubbish.

Top Tattoo by the way Vinnie.

TNG fan reporting in. Let me tell you the tale about TNG for me.

I'm 19 years old, I grew up watching TOS, TNG and the movies randomly. By that I mean that the show was on TV, but I wasn't exactly paying attention to it, I was just one the TV because at the time there's nothing else to watch. See, I grew up in the 90's, for me Frekazoid and Batman - The Animated Series were the shit. When I heard they were making a new movie I decided to go and watch TOS. It was painful. Okaish. But mostly painful. (Not as painful as the actual movie, but that's another story). Anyway, I watched it all, got in the series and went to watch TNG.

Made the huge mistake on start watching it by the first season. Huge mistake. Even though it was boring to no end I got close to the characters so I read the summaries from the other seasons and watched those episodes I was more inclined on liking. Meaning that I watched about 20 Q, Picard, Data and Romulans related episodes. Then I meh'd it. Went forward and watched a little of DS9, hated it, don't want to talk about it and went straight to Voyager. Goddammit I loved that series. I watched it all and about two weeks and spent several months later re-watching random episodes that I liked best. After a while it started to get dull, and I looked to my left side and there it was poor and lonely: My TNG DVD pile.

Skipped the first two seasons, don't get me wrong I actually tried, but couldn't force myself any further on them. I watched the rest of it with the exception of some Troi/Beverly/Wesley-Related episodes, but I'm sure that's understandable. Anyway I fell deeply in love with the series, I couldn't believe that I have lost so much time avoiding it and turned out that it was just my loss.

Plot wise, I'm 100% honest here, I find TNG to be very poor. I know there's a lot of very good episodes, but most of them are just a bunch of people trying to force misplaced sense of morals, pointless speeches, long and excruciating scenes with absolutely no content whatsoever. Not to mention all random Gainan being random, "I need at least two more hours to bring the Warp Core online, Captain!" and, of course, all the scenes that are not suppose to be funny, but end up being the high point of the whole episode. (Not that this is bad, but c'mon)

Anyway, all the wrongs and rights on TNG is what makes the series so good, it has balance, and It's such a lovely show with a bunch of deeply charismatic characters that it's almost impossible not to like it.

I love discussing about the series, but if you want me to get actually interested on the conversation, make it about Q (All of the known ones, not just De Lancie's), Picard (Oh, Jean Luc) Or Barclay.

The only character I hate on the franchise is Deanna Troi. There's a lot of people I dislake but they are tolerable. Troi is just. No.

    tl;dr - I love TNG.

Greetings Earthlings. I've been a Trek fan since the "original" series was the "only" series. Love the original ensemble, and most ensuing incarnations. Really love the new movie, with the old Spock handing off the reins to the whippersnappers.

Guess i better have my say then,i am a fan of TNG(favourite trek series)i was a trek fan up to the point of this series launching, this show continued the tradition that the original series started and continued with enterprise, but were able to do more because they have a bigger budget than they had back in the 60s and more things were happening in the mid 80s.My favourite character is the one and only Jean Luc Picard, dont like the other series as much as i do the next generation(maybe for ds9).looking forward to seeing my 1st trek convention(havent be to 1 yet)

A "whippersnapper" is a young person, male or female. Old Spock was handing the Trek franchise off to the recently graduated younger versions of himself and his friends. :vulcan:

Hello, people. I'm a newbie, my name is Milos, I'm from Serbia. I'm primarily a TNG fan, I have all 7 seasons on DVD(don't ask me how I got them ). My favourite character is Captain Picard. As for the favourite episode, it's difficult to pick one out of so many great ones but the first one that came to mind while I was typing this was "Tapestry", I guess that's saying something...

I've been watching Voyager too lately, I like it for the most part, but it's nowhere near TNG. I'll be seeing you around...;)

Another TNG fan reporting in here.

Been a fan of it since the mid-'90s or so.

Even tho' DS9 is tops for me in Trek series, TNG is my "first love" and a very close second in ranking.

Also, a belated congrats to Patrick Stewart on his Knighthood! All hail Sir Patrick! :D

Exactly what he said! Love TNG as I grew up with it and helped me through a horrible time of my life.

I love Counsellor Troi character even though she was badly written. My favourite episode is Timescape when she impersonates a guy who hit on her. Great story too.

I just finished watching the entire TNG series and its movies, and I must say that I absolutely love this series. I still can not believe how I could have missed this great series when it first aired, but better late than never!

Lol, I think quite alot of people hate Wesley...

Anyways, i'm Gian and 19. Didn't actually grow up watching TNG was far too young at the time. My Dad introduced me to Star Trek when I was a little older and I have watched re-runs ever since.

Just a quick one about me, at primary school there was this event where kids had to wear a costume of their favorite book/tv character for the day.

I turned up on the day as Mr Data, in the yellow uniform with the badge, pips and a phaser lol. My mum made me the costume and I was pretty sure I asked for the Command uniform but I settled for Ops lol.
