NFL Football 2009

The suits at the NFL Network must be creaming their shorts over having the two undefeated teams playing in their primetime games this week.

The Thursday games usually suck and the NFL Network programs are garbage.
As much as they're promoting the games over and over again (on their own network hardly anyone gets), I believe you are correct about their over-excitement.

Wade Phillips?

I am a lifetime charger fan, so I have a interest in what happens to wade, he use to run our defense here in San Diego. I wonder if he will get canned. In a recent interview Jerry Jones didn't seem to have many good things to say about him...

And what is it with the Dallas Cowboys? Is Romo 'the guy', or will he be blown out of there too???

agreed..however, SIRIUS has a great NFL sports talk channel...I listen to it more than any other station by far...

Rob

I'm an XM guy. I love football, but baseball is #1 in my book. I used to love the MLB channel, until they swapped programs, on air personalities, etc. I still like being able to listen my pitiful Mets when I get the chance.

I rented a car with Sirius when my car was in the shop, and the NFL channel is solid.

Sad news, especially as it sounds like he was getting his act together after lots of off the field problems.

Still though, dumb move. Don't jump onto a moving car!

I wonder if charges will be filed against the driver. A reasonable person would stop the car, but if she was afraid he would attack her, who knows...

A reasonable person would stop the car? Fuck that noise.

Unless something radical comes to light, there won't be any charges against her. She was fleeing an attack. The 911 call makes that pretty clear. He was trying to break into the cab while she was driving.

No point in piling on after the guy is dead, but I really don't have a lot of sympathy on this one. What he did was pretty damned stupid.

Haven't heard the 911 tape yet.

From Yahoo Sports:

Police said the dispute began at a home about a half-mile away, and Henry jumped into the bed of the pickup truck as his fiancee was driving away from the residence

Later Thursday, police released two 911 tapes. The first was from an unidentified woman who said she was following a yellow pickup truck.

“It’s got a black man on it with no shirt on, and he’s got his arm in a cast and black pants on,” she told a dispatcher. “He’s beating on the back of this truck window. … I don’t know if he’s trying to break in or something. It just looks crazy. It’s a girl driving it.”

So she's leaving the home after a "dispute", he runs after her, jumps into a moving truck, and then starts beating on the cab.

Not only would I not have stopped, I would have purposely swerved to throw him out.

I can't get the Bears in the playoffs with any scenarios. I tried and tried and tried.

Edit: This worked

To get the Rams into the playoffs, it requires a swine flu outbreak, several hundred turf-toe injuries, and a train accident.
Somehow, I suspect that this isn't what you meant when you said you needed a swine flu outbreak.

That's just perfect.

FYI for the Bears fans (as I know there are no other Ravens fans here), the game has been moved to 4:15 due to the enormous dump this Nor'Easter is going to take on Baltimore tomorrow.

^You should probably still go see Avatar instead of watch the game... if nothing else, it might be better for your blood pressure. :p

But then I wouldn't be able to entertain the masses with my hypertension-induced ponderings upon the Chicago-based National Football League Club.
