NFL Football 2009

You really see three losses for the Colts this year?

no...of course not. But you never know. I mean, what if Manning goes down to an injury? Well, to prevent this, they have already hinted they might sit him down early this year so he is there in the playoffs; sitting him down increases the chances of them losing. Hell, I don't even know who is back up is...

Rob

Of course they'll only sit him if they have already clinched the #1 seed anyway. In which case, your scenario with San Diego edging them for the #1 seed couldn't happen.

Barring really, really bad stuff happening, I was unable to get Denver out of the playoffs. However, I did find that if Denver can tie records with San Diego, while it may not happen immediately, Denver will take over the AFC West title. A tie in the last 3 weeks would give Denver immediate control, however, I found that if Denver finds a way to win this weekend and San Diego finds a way to lose, if they both win out after that, Denver would win the tie breaker in the final week.

Yeah, if Denver wins out and Cincy and SD both lose at least one of their remaining games, then Denver not only wins its division, but gets the #2 seed and a bye. That's because they hold the tiebreaker over the Bengals, due to that bizarre ending to the Bengals-Broncos game way back in Week 1.

[*Technically, they could even get the #1 seed if Indy loses all four of its remaining games, but there's no way that's going to happen.]

Denver's not going to win out. I think Indy runs them out of the building, they have trouble with Philly in Philly and there's a greater than zero chance they drop one to either the Raiders or Chiefs.

Lovie Smith has officially lost his mind with that iffy challenge AFTER calling a timeout, eating up two timeouts.

Looks like Timby's voodoo witchcraft is working.

Dear Lovie Smith,

Get fired yesterday, you despicably useless cocksucker. Two timeouts to challenge a call you were obviously going to lose, late in the 4th, only down by a touchdown? A completely malaise team going through motions they're not even sure whether or not they're supposed to be going through? Relying on that worthless short-yardage screen on 3rd and 21? (Seriously, you should have fired Ron Turner on the spot for that. What the fuck?) Receivers giving no fuck about their routes? A defense being coached by its permanently injured middle linebacker, while you just stood emotionless on the sideline contemplating whether or not you needed a sandwich at the moment?

FUCK YOU.

Countless penalties and dipshitted plays by boneheaded players who have obviously not stepped near anything resembling a coach in the last six weeks of this season. Missed assignments (where the fuck was Josh Bullocks going when he left the entire left side of the field open for Grant to jog through?), confused route-running, Omiyale still starting (SERIOUSLY, FUCK THAT). Aromashodu fucking tearing up a team after he finally gets some playing time, because the star return man that you molded into a #4 quality receiver got injured, and then completely disappearing after a Rashied Davis sighting (and Rashied Davis should never touch a football, ever). A defensive scheme that involves leaving 10 yards of the field completely open nearly every down.

You have completely lost the plot, you douchebag.

And this is just today, you squinting retard. You've lost your team. They don't believe in you. And to your credit, you don't give a flying fuck. You're going to do the same goddamn shit week in and week out and continue pacing up and down the sideline with that Down syndrome look on your face and have no passion for anything whatsoever. You're probably going to stick Orlando Pace back in the starting lineup next week, because it would be the most hilariously awful change you could make to the offensive line and you simply don't give a shit.

I can be reasonable. Jerry Angelo has completely fucked you, I understand that, and he needs to be fired into the sun. But that doesn't make you any less of a blithering moron. Fuck you, Lovie Smith. Fuck you until you're fucking dead.

Get fired tomorrow (and put a bullet in Turner's head),
Tim

Well, I'm not surprised with the results of the Broncos/ Colts game, but I can't help but feel disappointed. The defense tried everything they could to keep it a winnable game, but the offense just wouldn't put points up. After Buckhalter went out, why did they never put Hillis in? There were several places (read, the short yardage areas, 2-point attempt) where Moreno was not a good choice. They needed a power runner in there who could fight for extra yards, not a runner who would crumble when a defender would even look at him.

Oh well, get over this hump and finish the season strong for a playoff surge.

This in from the middling ranks of the NFL

TITANS WIN BIG, BEAT RAMS

This update means less than it did last week when we were working a 5 game winning streak after starting 0-6 but hey its like tradition now.

Titans: 6-7

We need about 3-4 unique things to work out for us to be playoff eligible + win out. One of those is against the Chargers who've had our # the last few years but we'll see. Maybe they'll sit some guys or something!

I think Favre is running out of gas.

He was terrible last week and didn't look all that impressive this week.

I say start Jackson for the last three games of the season. Baring any uber meltdown, the Vikings should hold on to the two-seed, and if Favre continues to play like he has, they won't go far in the playoffs.

Lovie Smith really does need to go. Anybody else involved in the "hey, it's 3rd and long, let's try to get two yards" needs to be fired.

The defense kept the broncos in it with 3 picks, but couldn't do anything on offense.

That was an entertaining, yet somehow simultaneously terrible, Eagles-Giants game. It included dumb plays, comical (as well as stupid) officiating, and an Andy Reid-DeSean Jackson chest bump.
