Can you believe we're still here talking about a show that's 46 years old?
Anyone doing anything special today?

I imagine it'll make it 50.
I've said before and I'll say it again: I hope they have the guts to end the show. I'm serious. I would love to see The Thirteenth Doctor discover his morality and struggle with it. Not like how The Tenth Doctor keeps wrangling over it now, but truly realize this is the end for The Doctor. No escape routes, no following the path of The Master, no last second miracles. Truly the end of The Doctor. Done right, I think it would be masterful and brilliant end to an incredible series.I'm just wondering what will be done when Doc #13 is around...I mean he's gonna have a problem there.![]()

I think that's a given. Unless the BBC experiences some sort of utter collapse (in which case BBC America - a separate company - would just take over production, or maybe Syfy) or absolutely zero people watch Matt Smith, or the world does in fact end on Dec. 21, 2012, I can't see any reason why the show can't last another 4 years. And even if it doesn't, it's even money the Big Finish audios and the novels will continue.

None that can't be fixed by a single episode, or even a single line of dialogue. I don't think that we can say for certain that the upper limit of 12 regenerations is still in force. It could conceivably be some sort of limitation that the Time Lords imposed upon themselves but that was abolished or amended during the Time War. The closest that nuWho comes to addressing it is, I think, in The Next Doctor when Ten suggests that David Morrissey's character could be his next incarnation or the one after that. (This is after his half-regeneration in Journey's End.)I'm just wondering what will be done when Doc #13 is around...I mean he's gonna have a problem there.![]()
