I just finished "Children of Earth," and man was that INTENSE! That was some of the best TV I've ever seen. But where the hell do we go from here? Is there a Season 4?
I don't know how I feel about Torchwood

*trys really hard to hold himself back*Well...maybe 2. Call it 2. But I certainly wouldn't rate it in the top 5 of all the television I've seen. I've seen better episodes of Neighbours.
ok, im not going to engage you in conversation about this.I'm no great fan of Neighbours, and I'm not trying to wind you up. But CoE just didn't impress me. 5 unimpressive hours. I tried to explain my reasons back there.
I just wanted to say that I love how (over the course of three pages) you went from

I reckon many of us made the same transformation, but it's fun to see.![]()
That said, one thing I did like that I forgot to mention wasseeing Captain Jack die such a lot. I could watch him getting killed all day.
I think political intrigue is putting it a bit strongly. Personally, I found the cabinet discussion fairly reasonable. If you have to give up 10% of the children, you run through the options of how to choose. What really did ruin it was how they then took great pains to make the PM look like an obvious bastard by telling Frobisher to put his children up for "inoculation" (or however it worked). I will say that I think Capaldi's performance was the best thing about the whole CoE (once I got over seeing him as he is in The Thick of It).its been a while since I wrote a review of CoE, so I might be rusty.
Political intrigue for one there is no better drama, than watching the politicians talk about how best to give the children to 456, and even better which children to give, and how to spin it to the public. Never mind them discussing how it should not be there own children.
Moving on the death of Ianto Jones is the best and most deaths in the Whoverse, maybe even more so than the heart breaking ending of Jack as you mentioned killing his own grandson, you know he would do it, but it still breaks your heart to see it happen, and it breaks his heart to do it.
I dont know how you watched it, but if you watched it on the BBC One schedule (its possible you did) assuming you did, I just do not see how you could not have found of it edge of your seat & totally engrossing stuff.
Err, well that's a difficult thing to nail down. But CoE wasn't really it. The characters weren't engaging, it should have been cut down by two hours, and the plot and resolution weren't without flaws.Just out of curiosity, what do you think is a really great drama?
Just want to get where you're coming from.
reasonable maybe, but still shocking to watchI think political intrigue is putting it a bit strongly. Personally, I found the cabinet discussion fairly reasonable. If you have to give up 10% of the children, you run through the options of how to choose.
this TV show that has been cancelled twice is not the best way to describe Doctor Who, it would be better to call it the icon of British TV & British society that it is.wamdue and others, there is no reason to pile on to USS Bones. The poster has at least watched the CoE, and has given an informed opinion. Just because you disagree with someone's opinion does not mean they are wrong, and it certainly doesn't mean they should be attacked (however mildly) for their opinion.
For the record, I liked CoE, but why should that give me the right to condemn someone who disagrees?
Think about it. You're here discussing a spin-off of a series that was canceled twice. It is, at best, niche programming. You are the minority.
Still he did say that there were part episodes of Neighbours, that seem to be going OTT
