Top Gear New Series

I've been revisiting all of Top Gear recently.

I've always really liked James May, and after having rewatched series one, I like him even more. Jason Dawe wasn't horrible by any means, but didn't seem to have ANY chemistry with the Clarkson and Hammond. His interaction with them was so bland that even his off-the-cuff statements sounded somehow flat and scripted.

May, on the other hand, seemed a perfect fit from his very first episode.

Plus, May is currently building a full-sized house out of LEGO Blocks. I just can't see Jason ever doing something so amazing and fun.

Yeah, the first season was a bit different. Boring third presenter that they got rid of quick smart...barely any people in the studio to begin with....Stig in black being referred to as "it"....

:D

James has just made a bridge out of meccano.
And is going to make a giant scalextric set on sunday.

He is also going to join two villagers up with a toy railway. :guffaw: can you imagine doing stuff like this for a living.

So, is there going to be another series or is Top Gear finished?

If they do quit, I'd like them to end on a (huge) bang, but any real ending would be better than none for me.

There's another series, filming now I believe. I'd be surprised if it ended soon, and if it did I'm sure they'd try and bring it back for specials.

Top Gear is apparently going HD from the new series.

From Digital Spy
The BBC has announced that Top Gear will be available in high definition on BBC HD starting on November 15.
To date, the only episode of BBC Two's hit motoring entertainment show to be broadcast in HD was the July 2007 polar special.
In a post on the BBC Internet Blog, Nagler explained: "I can confirm that the team is now working with HD cameras on the new series.
"You've been very clear that this is a BBC programme that for you represents the best of what we do, and that you believe it is one of those series that can benefit most from HD. I agree with you, and I'm confident that the shift will ensure that the cars are glossier and faster than ever, and the presenters... well, probably will look even more like their reflections in the mirror but we'll all have to wait to judge."

Yay, now I can see Jeremy's pores up close!

I eagerly await more jokes about Hammond's whitened teeth and another Jeremy eating hair type stunt.

But seriously, the show's cinematography plus HD = pure TV bliss.
