Cool movie. Definitely one of the 'lesser' Mel Brooks movies, coming out at a point when he was past his prime (his best stuff was in the 60s/70s). Still, I found it more memorable than any of the old Star Wars movies, which were all forgettable to me (not that I think they're bad or anything, they just didn't do much for me).
The movie may be nowhere near the quality level of the brilliant "Producers", "History of the World Part One", "Young Frankenstein", "Blazing Saddles", or even "Silent Movie", but it has its moments. I still think Pizza the Hutt is one of the greatest visual gags ever. This is one of the last decent Brooks movies. I think he started losing his edge a bit after this one, but the Robin Hood one was all right too.
