The most beautiful people in Trek?

Seriously, no TV character has ever been sexier than Emma Peel. No one.
As for Star Trek, it's got to be Uhura (the original one). Damn she was gorgeous.
Honourable mentions go to Beverly Crusher (and Gates McFadden still looks really good), Vash and B'Elanna Torres.

TOS - The Shat. Seriously. He was fine in his day. Whoever played Ilia in TMP was beautiful as well -- she's one of my earliest film memories.

TNG - Who WASN'T beautiful? The whole cast, from Patrick Stewart/Jean-Luc Picard right down to Wil Wheaton/Wesley Crusher, was gorgeous. I'll call John DeLancie out, though -- he is beautiful and he counts for every series after TNG as well.

DS9 - Alexander Siddig and Nicole deBoer.

VOY - Jeri Ryan, obviously. Jennifer Lien. Tim Russ. I also thought Manu Intiraymi had his moments -- "Imperfection" made me fall for Icheb a little bit. Oh, and Keegan DeLancie has his father's good looks. Yum.

ENT - Scott Bakula and Jolene Blalock.

I always thought Robert Beltran was really sexy. Scott Bakula would have been too if he had stopped scowling for 4 seasons.

You don't watch a lot of Voyager, I take it? It's Kes.

Yeah, I've only seen like seven episodes (including the finale) and she wasn't in any of them. What seasons was she in? She certainly looks better than any of the other women I've seen on that show (i.e. Borg chick, Klingon chick), although I think the Captain is very attractive.

I always thought Robert Beltran was, too...and I thought Bakula was right up until Enterprise. Not sure what happened there, if it was a change in me or in him, but on Enterprise, starting with the first episode, he was (to me) either irritating or bland. Sex appeal is a funny thing.

She was a regular in the first three seasons - so she's in just about every episode during those seasons. Part of the time she had really short hair, and Kes fans are divided as to whether they prefer short-haired pixyish Kes or long-haired grown-up Kes.

Definitely long haired grown-up Kes. Short haired Kes always wore hideous orange outfits and looked like an elf. Grown up Kes was incredibly beautiful.

Amen, brudder. I finished watching all her Avenger episodes again. Her style, her grace, her physical beauty (oh, that face!), and that awesome accent and the devilish way she can deliver a line...

Maybe some people have trouble with her normal-sized boobies and the way her catsuits didn't include specially-taylored boob cups like 7's did  but she never failed to make me sigh heavily.

You know, this brings up something that kind of bothers me in these Beautiful Celebrity discussions...

I don't get it when people - and I really do not mean to refer to anybody specifically in this thread - say things like "X was gorgeous when she had this hairstyle/costume but ordinary when she had this other hairstyle/costume."

If you're beautiful, you're beautiful. Hairstyle or a particular costume might be more or less flattering, but they are not enough - they definitely ought not be enough - to change someone from ::sigh of yearning:: to ::meh:: . I can see why, say, Klingon brow ridges or other major changes in appearance would affect a person's appeal, but a really beautiful woman can look good in a burlap sack (and Diana Riggs definitely qualifies, IMO) and a really handsome man looks wonderful in sloppy sweats.

So I say if you consider someone beautiful only under certain specific conditions, you don't truly consider that person beautiful. He or she can be "hot" or "attractive" or "cute" or something, but beauty, surely, goes beyond minor costume changes.

TOS
Jeffery Hunter - Those eyes were killer, beautiful man, still bummed he didn't stay with the role.

Leonard Nimoy - No one did forbidden fruit as well as he did when he gave Spock life.

Nichelle Nickols - Beauty, intelligence and oh so sexy. I always felt that she gave the character a seductive joy in being a woman as well as an officer. Too bad the writers of Voyager didn't take a page from this series even if it was made in a less enlightened era.

Jill Ireland - Leila Kalomi, okay Spock would have had to be dead not to respond to this woman.

The actor who played Apollo was certainly handsome. Actually I think TOS had some of the most beautiful women and men in Trek.

Voyager

Robert Beltran - Oh hell the man is walking sex - he is probably one of the most handsome men in Trek.

Kate Mulgrew - The woman made the charcacter sexy as all hell especially when she lowered that voice and let down that hair. There is something in her smile that takes her from attractive to beautiful in a heartbeat. Its the slow movement from playful imp to one that just lights up her face.

Not necessarily. Minor changes can sometimes have a dramatic effect on someone's appearance. Case in point the actress Jennifer Grey. After she got a nose job her career disappeared because literally people couldn't recognize her anymore. People often respond heavily to certain traits they just find sexy. An actress who is moderately good looking can change her hairstyle to someone's favorite and become instantly more attractive.

^ Yes, but I'm not really talking about a person someone finds merely "attractive." I'm talking "beautiful" (or "handsome," the masculine equivalent) which to me is a different category altogether. If all it takes is a new hairstyle in order to make someone beautiful in your eyes (I don't mean "you" personally - I'm using the generic "you") to find someone beautiful, then I suggest you (again, not you personally ;) ) weren't really paying attention before.

And a nose job can actually be a pretty major change, depending on the nose job. But hair and clothes...those are pretty superficial, seeing as they can change every minute. Or so it seems to me.

Hmm. I think its fair to say someone is more beautiful when they have certain type of hair or style. I guess there is a fine line between saying someone is attractive/beautiful.
I think most of the women in Star Trek were very pretty to be honest, I mean that's a large part of why they were hired, there aren't really any ugly regulars in trek.

Kate, I generally agree with what you're saying, but I think Nana Visitor is a big exception. I was absolutely stunned by how much better she looked from season 3 onwards. I really believe the change between seasons 2 and 3 was like a 'total makeover' that revealed a physical beauty in her that had been hidden very well by her original look.

Her really short, masculine hairstyle and that constricting uniform she wore in the first two seasons had me thinking she was the manliest, least attractive woman ever on Star Trek.

Then simply growing her hair longer and wearing a less stiff, more shapely uniform with an open collar/neck area starting in the third season made a world of difference.

You'd think it wouldn't matter since it's so small, but I believe the Bajoran nose ridge was a huge detriment to her appearance too. It's just so distracting. The pictures people have posted of her out of costume really surprised me too with what a babe they revealed her to be.

Jessica Alba never did anything for me until she dyed her hair for Fantastic 4. then major  occured. weird.

and it's not because i have a thing for blondes, overwhelmingly i go for brunettes...

and any attractive woman who put her hair in bunches, dresses in a school uniform and wears glasses is going to increase in sexiness by at least 3x for me...
