Hot as H - E - Double hockeysticks!

It's been very hot here (Pensacola, Florida) the past couple weeks. 90s every day. Even at night it doesn't get below 80.

It's been in the upper 90's for a couple of weeks now. It's why I didn't go to the College World Series, 'cuz I hate sitting outside for hours in blazing hot weather.

Fortunately it's cooler now...

I live in Northern California, and it is HOT AS ASS today.

Right now, it's 103. It was 106 here earlier.

Supposed to be 107 tomorrow.

We must be neighbors. Same place, same weather conditions. All I can say is thank God for air conditioning. Without it, I'd be even sicker than this damn weather has already made me.

Makes me long for the Christmas season. Shorter days, cooler tempatures.....

Oh well. At least I can take a cold shower.

108 right now.

Good grief...

Beautiful day today. 70's but with soft rain changing to sun. Put the air-con on tonight (ok it's a fan, but in Britain that equals AC :)) and have replaced the duvet with just a sheet. I love this weather :techman:

It is BURNING up here. 73 degrees and a very high humidity of 48%!! It looks the high is going to be be 88 tomorrow. The low tonight is still hot at 61! :(

Burning at 73? Hot at 61? I can't imagine anything cooler than 61 degrees. Those temps are what many would consider ideal year round. It really is funny on how people perceive weather. One person's hot is another person's cold! :)

Ridiculously hot here in San Antonio. And when I go back to Missouri for college it'll get ridiculously cold in the winters there. I get to experience the worst of both worlds! :(

Heh, I was just joking. It's 10 below normal temps. So it's quite nice. Although, seriously it is really humid.

I grew up in Fresno located in the Central Valley in CA and it would stay in the 100's for weeks at a time in the summer. we used to just live in the pool all summer long.

Ah....we can all be miserable together.

I have to be in Sacramento next month--taking the Bar.

Going crazy now but I'm starting to maintain calm more. Which is a good thing--my blood pressure hit 170/118--and that was with me being on TWO meds for blood pressure!!

Our electrice bill goes crazy in the summer--but we've spent money on double pane windows in our old house. It makes a HUGE difference--we save about $200/month on the bill in summer. We don't sleep well when it's over 78F. We can sleep, but always interrupted by discomfort and just getting hot.

Yeah we're all getting it this weekend. My best friend lives in Hanford. He's miserable too.

Good luck on the Bar.

If there's one thing the world needs, it's more lawyers....

:p

Maybe we're all next door neighbors and didn't realize it. I live right outside of Sacramento as well. Today was not good...I am still sweating. This apartment has awful insulation. We have had the AC on all day long and the inside of our apartment has not gone below 85 degrees. Thank god for Otter Pops.

My plants look really dead. :(

Here in North Carolina it is around 88° to 92°F but it is going to be unbearable from mid-July to September as these are the hottest and most humid weeks of the summers, easily 100° F everyday, and so humid everything looks fuzzy.

The beach and the mountains are great places to hang out during this time.

Whenever it is absolutely miserable, I think of those poor females having to wear whalebone 'internal organs-shifter' corsets and several layers of clothing on the plantations around here and I wonder how they survived.

I prefer it here I think, because I like being able to grow things outside all year-round. And I have gotten used to the humidity.
I miss the cool evenings in Colorado, though. I grew up in the mountains and no matter how hot it is during the summer, at night it cools down wonderfully.

I'm in the NC mountains right now, and I love it

Boone is lovely. So much cooler and also a fun place to visit. When I get homesick for snow this winter, I will drive up for a cup of cocoa and a snowball fight. :)

Well, your friend has Superior Dairy--that's gotta make up for something. OMG their ice cream is great!! Not sure which I like more--them, Dewars in Bakersfield, or Linders in Oakland area.

And a cool Japanese museum Hubby and I hope to see once this Bar thing is done.

I had a friend who considered moving to Hanford--she wanted to know if there was anyone to talk to besides cows ;).

I'm just lucky it's not one year ago, 'cuz that's when we had that huge storm that blew down half the trees in the city and all that. I had no electricity for four days, and it was way fucking hot outside. My house was 80 degrees when it was all over. :(

Sadly, the answer is "no".

We live in a small town about 20 miles south of Sacramento, if that helps narrow it down.

The Gold Country in California is finally showing Summer Temps..got to 104 today and was 88 just a few minutes ago..thank God for the air conditioner..
