Hot as H - E - Double hockeysticks!

I live in Northern California, and it is HOT AS ASS today.

Right now, it's 103. It was 106 here earlier.

Supposed to be 107 tomorrow.

Same for me...I much prefer the heat to the cold though. Although people always say you can just add more layers in the cold, that never seems to work for me. The coldness seems to pierce anything I put on.

I actually really like the heat. It takes a lot to make me sweat so I am not dying like some others in my household.

I think we live pretty close to each other.

Today has been miserable. Tomorrow's going to be worse.

It rained almost everyday this month up here in New York. Today hit 80 and that's the highest we've had since the last week of May, IIRC. I love the rain and all but it was sure nice to see the sun.

Here in Stockholm we have finally hit a heatwave. We are expecting 30+ celcius today.

I usually hate the heat, but as long as there is loads of water and cool breeze through the appartment when im inside, im alright. Don't know if i will feel the same if im outdoors for a while though!

England is forecast to be about 25'C today. Last night felt like 20'C, but that's just my estimate. Last night was warmer than I like. I dislike the heat. A couple of thunderstorms and heavy rain hit these parts over the past week. Thunderstorms are ok, I quite enjoy them. But I prefer winter, and I expect everyone knows that by know :p

So I have three questions:
1) What's the weather like right now where you live?

The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for the entire country. We're expecting a week long (possibly longer) heatwave here in the UK. 30 degrees C might now sound like much to Americans but here air conditioning is the exception rather than the rule.

2) What kind of weather do you prefer? Why?

Cold. Cold cold coldy cold cold. I hate sitting in my office working in hot weather. The AC never works properly and there's always somebody who complains and messes around with the settings to make it not work.

It's now about 28 degrees celsius in the shade (82F) and I'd expect it's about 35 C in the sun (95F), and it's very sunny and there's not a cloud in sight. There's also a light breeze as it walays is since this is a coast town.

And overall I'm loving this! Ever since I came back from Atlanta a little over three years ago I've been sorta damaged and I just LOVE the heat. We don't quite get the same kind of humidity as the south though. Mostly everyone else think I'm crazy for liking it this warm but I truly detest ice and snow.

After I'm done with my posting round here I'm off outside for an excersise walk, wearing a few extra layers to ensure proper sweatage :D

Here in North Carolina it is around 88° to 92°F but it is going to be unbearable from mid-July to September as these are the hottest and most humid weeks of the summers, easily 100° F everyday, and so humid everything looks fuzzy.

The beach and the mountains are great places to hang out during this time.

Whenever it is absolutely miserable, I think of those poor females having to wear whalebone 'internal organs-shifter' corsets and several layers of clothing on the plantations around here and I wonder how they survived.

I prefer it here I think, because I like being able to grow things outside all year-round. And I have gotten used to the humidity.
I miss the cool evenings in Colorado, though. I grew up in the mountains and no matter how hot it is during the summer, at night it cools down wonderfully.

What I have: Phoenix, Arizona (in other words, a raging inferno).
What I want: Central Wisconsin (in other world, heaven, but with a few more mosquitoes).

1) It was a high of 102 F yesterday. Today is expected to be 108 F, and it's not expected for highs under 100 F for at least a week, and mostly in the 103 to 108 range.

2) We actually had a great Spring (well, not for the farmers I think)--with a few weird days of highs and lows that were just bizarre. But it was mostly nice weather for the last couple of months--70s-80s. That's the weather I like. Comfortable enought to go out without a sweater, but occasionally cooling down to where a sweater is nice in the evening.

BTW, I'm in Fresno, CA. Land of hot summers, cold winters, and NO WATER! The farmers are going nuts about that--understandably. "Agriculture is the primary industry in Fresno County. Ag production totaled $5.3 billion in 2007, making it the number one agricultural county in the nation." (per Wikipedia, emphasis added)

I'm in the NC mountains right now, and I love it

I'm in the SF area suburbs too. It's already in the 80's early this morning which is very unusual. I think we'll hit 105 or so today.

The nice thing about around here is that if you want to cool off you can just drive a few miles closer to the close and peel off about 30 degrees(F) in temp.

I grew up in Fresno located in the Central Valley in CA and it would stay in the 100's for weeks at a time in the summer. we used to just live in the pool all summer long.

Yeah, Fresno is awful in the summer.

Not that it's much better here.

We had all the ceiling fans going, and both doors open all night, and at 6:30 this morning it was 76 degrees in the house.

It's bad when you have to turn on the AC at 10:00AM.

:scream:
