My journey in Deep Space

Oh, and the final shot of the episode is very similar to the shot of Jake and Kira in 'Visitor'.

That last shot just kills me.

Seeing the station become just one dot out of the many. I suppose one could look at it and see how many new stories are still out there...but, to me, it made the station seem insignificant in spite of all that had happened. I was gutted.

I think it was the way the DS9 theme was played in that scene that really got to me. Plus the death of Damar and millions of other Cardassians:(.

What a way to end a series!

I didn't reply in this thread so far, but I have been following this for a couple of months now and I really enjoyed seeing you go through DS9 from Emissary to WYLB and reading your reactions. It was a bit like seeing DS9 again for the first time myself.

Thank you.

That final shot was just beautiful in every way, it felt like as if you were being torn away from this place that you loved.

Congrats on completing the show.

Well I feel like watching Babylon 5 again. This will be my 4th time through the series. Should I start a thread here for it? Perhaps in another forum?

I am going to have to start reading the re-launch.
Please do - there are many of us who feel like they are Seasons 8 and 9 of the show.

In fact, I've gone to the trouble of breaking the stories down into episodes as if they were, along with TV Guide-like bullet descriptions for the two seasons. I'd be happy to post them here if anyone wanted.

^ By all means. I'd like to see it.

Well, considering the huge outpouring of requests... ;)

The stories break down into 26 episodes for season 8 - the standard Star Trek season size. But season 9 only has 24 episodes, like the last couple of seasons of Enterprise.

And obviously, since we don't have the book yet, there's no description for the last two episodes, "The Soul Key" and "Ha'mara." (Not that I don't have a good idea what's going to happen in them.)

801 - "Avatar, part 1" - As the station undergoes repairs, rogue Jem'Hadar ships attack.
802 - "Avatar, part 2" - Kira discovers a worrying ancient prophecy on board the station.
803 - "Avatar, part 3" - A Jem'Hadar tries to destroy the station; Kira solves the prophecy.
804 - "Cold Fusion" - Nog meets the Starfleet Corps of Engineers at Empok Nor.
805 - "Reflections" - Ezri recalls the true story of how she was joined to Dax.

807 - "Rogue" - Section 31 recruit Bashir to go after one of their own agents.
808 - "Abyss" - Bashir and Dax fight an insane superman in the Badlands.
809 - "A Stitch in Time" - From the devastated Cardassia, Garak reveals his formative years.
810 - "Divided We Fall" - Dax's ex-wife is taken hostage, and Dax herself is the price.
811 - "Gateways" - All of Starfleet reacts to a new galaxy-wide threat.
812 - "Demons of Air and Darkness" - Kira is lost on a deadly planet while Taran'atar battles a Hirogen.
813 - "Horn and Ivory" - Kira finds herself reliving her life in Bajor's distant past.
814 - "Twilight" - Vaughn repares for the Defiant's new mission to the Gamma Quadrant.
815 - "Haunted" - Vaughn and Prynn crash-land on a mysteriously dead planet.
816 - "Baby Steps" - Quark deals with some unexpected news while trying to woo Ro.

819 - "Cathedral" - Bashir, Dax and Nog are affected by a bizarre space-borne artefact.
820 - "Twist of Faith" - Surprises keep coming as Bajor prepares to join the Federation.
821 - "Lesser Evil" - Kira hunts down a new enemy responsible for the attack on the station.
822 - "Greater Good" - Vaughn and Prynn clash when a Starfleet signal is detected in space.
823 - "Rising Son" - Jake's incredible adventures on a pirate ship in the Gamma Quadrant.
824 - "Unity, part 1" - Defiant returns to find Deep Space Nine under seige from Cardassians.
825 - "Unity, part 2" - The crew try to contain the parasite threat; Vaughn receives a vision.

Any reason you can't have The Never-Ending Sacrifice be the final two episodes of the "season"? Granted, the story will take place all the way from season 2 up to the "present" (not sure just how far into the relaunch it'll go), but since you already have some flashbacks in the list, I think it'd fit nicely to pad out that season to a full 26 episodes.

Then again, for all we know, The Soul Key may have an epic finale feel to it (like Unity), and N-ES may feel more like the next "season" opener. One thing's for sure, I can't wait for these books! :techman:

That's how I feel it'll be, yes. That The Soul Key will end the current storyline "phase" and that Never-Ending Sacrifice, while not being totally unrelated, will focus on other threads.

I went to the bookstore the other day looking for Twist of Faith and they didnt have it. I remember seeing it at a bookstore. I'm going to try again this weekend and I'll continue this thread with my thoughts on it.

Does anyone have a link too a clear and concise list of the proper chronological reading order of the relaunch novels?

I am really enjoying reading this thread.

I am myself doing a Star Trek marathon currently and is just at the beginning of season 3 of DS9. First watch for me as well.

I am planning on doing B5 (also for the first time) after ST is over. :D
