I don't think so. From what I remember reading (may have been the same source, I can't recall), Bakula was asking that the 26-episode-per-season number be lessened to something more in line with other network drama shows, i.e., 22 episodes. I presume that's why Season 3 was 24 and Season 4 was 22.ok, thanks for clearing things up! For my part I'm glad SB was not very successful in that, we would have even less episodes if he were!
Hm, I didn't really like "Fusion" all that much, but Enrique Murciano is an awesome actor.* Fusion had a different guy playing Tolaris - I wonder if it would've been as creepy
Yep, I guess there would have been no Blalock's stand-in dropping her robes... Perhaps there wouldn't even be any neuropressure.* Moonves intefered to make season 3 "sexier" so Harbinger may not have happened as it was supposed to
LOL, a good one. Had me there for a moment.* Twilight was supposed to have Porthos receiving neuropressure from T'Pol because it couldn't sleep

T'Pol was supposed to say "Not that far!" IIRC. I'm glad they went with ambiguity there, the early version would have been an unnecessary humiliation for Archer.* Twilight wasn't supposed to have T'Pol become silent when Archer asked exactly how far their relationship evolved
Why the hell couldn't they do a 'dynamic trio' sort of thing? Trip/Malcolm/Travis could have been a great friendship too.* Trip and Mayweather were supposed to be buddies, instead of Trip and Reed
Could have been interesting, but having a Captain and the Chief Engineer fight over a Vulcan pair of boobs would have probably been way too "Dawson's Creek" (Joey belonged with Pacey, end of story!* Sussman suggested that instead of have Trip/T'Pol there should be a triangle with Archer

)Who the hell would have commanded the Enterprise then? Shran perhaps? Hmmm, that would have been interesting.* Coto wanted season 5 not to have Archer, thinking maybe he'd stay in HQ

Network TV filming schedules are brutal, some companies working 6 days a week, 18 hours per day, for 9-10 months out of the year. I understand why Bakula would request more down time at season's end to recuperate. Plus, many TV actors try to fit non-series gigs in during the downtime between seasons, and there would have been more time to do that if the season ran shorter.

Actually, he was. It's the reason Season 3 was 24 episodes; and Season 4 was 22 episodes.
Logical Choice IMO would be Tucker!Who the hell would have commanded the Enterprise then? Shran perhaps? Hmmm, that would have been interesting.* Coto wanted season 5 not to have Archer, thinking maybe he'd stay in HQ
Uhm, no, I just don't see Trip as captain material. I think pulling him out of engineering would have been like stabbing him in the heart. I mean, I can definitely see Trip spending more time breathing behind Kelby's neck in engineering, then on the bridge.Logical Choice IMO would be Tucker!
Not a big fan of fan fiction. Read some of HR's stuff, and a couple of non-trek fics, that's about it.I take it you've never read Rigil Kent's Endeavour series then.
T'Pol is First Officer, however, and probably more qualified to succeed Archer, so she'd be more likely to get the job.
Whatever. I really wouldn't like it that way, and I seriously think removing Archer would have been incredibly stupid.
I agree with you that removing Archer would be stupid. But if they did remoe him, I actually do see Tucker assuming a Captain role on the NX-01 or any other ship for that matter. I believe that his command of Enterprise in Kir'Shara is evidence of this skills. Regarding Tucker being able to maintain his romance with T'Pol if he became Captain? Well we are just never going to agree on that one.Whatever. I really wouldn't like it that way, and I seriously think removing Archer would have been incredibly stupid.
You are so right, Rigil's work is awesome!!! This guy is a very talented writer and his depiction of Tucker in a command role is amazingly Spot On. I do hope he continues his series some time soon; the first eight "books" were amazing.I take it you've never read Rigil Kent's Endeavour series then.
I think the two of us agreed to disagree on that one ages ago!Regarding Tucker being able to maintain his romance with T'Pol if he became Captain? Well we are just never going to agree on that one.
I doubt it. Not my cup of tea.Mach5: Endeavour is well worth the read. Very action oriented stories and not really "shipper" stuff (although T&T are central characters and their romance is there). You may change your mind on both you positions after you read these stories.
