To quote my friend:

"How do the Pirates have fans? They never try to get good."

Anyway... I get out of class and turn on the ballgame and see that the Cubs are up 5-3 in the bottom of the eight.

Ryan Wells had a no-hitter (which was really a perfect game, since the HBP was a bullshit call) going into the 8th, and the Cubs had a 5-0 lead.

Everyone in the Cubs bullpen can eat a bag of flaming dicks.

Right. We lost the last game, but won the series. I'm glad I went to the Friday and Saturday games, but not the Sunday game. :p

Good games... great crowd... lot of Red Sox fans though, lol...

You went to Friday's game? So did I and I peed my pants when I saw Doug Gilmour (hate the Leafs and Flames, though, ugh).

I was up in level 525 (behind home plate).

Hey, did you see the guys in level 100 arguing and the one guy throw his drink as the cop grabbed him? That was AWESOME.

I did get a chuckle when I saw Doug Gilmour... I was like: 'It's retro Friday... when did Gilmour have time to play for the Jays?" :p

And I was in the outfield where my section was busy collectively flirting with Jason Bay... :D

To be honest, though, McLouth wasn't helping the Giants. Talk about a team with some problems...

If you're talking about hitting, yeah I agree. Sabean has not been making the deals he should be making ever since Bonds left. If you're talking about Pitching, the Giants pitching is one of the better pitching staffs in Baseball. Lincecum, Cain, Johnson, and Zito improving this year. That's a great 4 punch right there, and Lincecum and Cain have bright futures in front of them. If the Giants can get a big bat in the line up, they might not be playoff contenders (Even though the Wild Card is a possibility), but they could make some noise and play spoilers down the stretch. Also, the Giants Farm System is one of the better ones in baseball so the future in that regard is looking bright.

He's still intemidating as hell, but it's great he's on the Giants. Congrats to him. :)

After Cole Hamels' 97 pitch complete game shutout at Chavez Ravine, the Phillies have a 20-6 road record, which is now better than any other team's HOME record. The Dodgers dropped to 20-7 at home with the loss.

Of course, the Phils are 12-14 in their own park.

The Phils have the best road record in baseball. They can't be great everywhere. Their home record will improve. And, if it doesn't, then they'll just win on the road in the playoffs ;)

Maybe the Phils should just play on the road? Man this team is hot right now. I bet even if we take 3 out of 4 from LA ESPN will still have us behind the Dodgers, Yankees, and Red Sox in their power rankings.

Don't you remember his spectacular wraparound home run during the '93 playoffs? ;)

Heck, they'll probably rate the Phillies below the Mets even though the Mets have injury problems out the wazoo and their bullpen still blows. ESPN. Blah.

Although, we'll get a sense of what Jon Miller and Joe Morgan think of the Phillies on sunday night. Phils-Dodgers is Sunday's marquee matchup.

Here's my All-Star Ballot

American League

I figure Pujols doesn't need my help and Beltran is/will be injured. :techman:

I'm going to the Mets @ Nationals game tonight...as much as I love the Mets, I'd love to see the poor Nats win for a change. :(

Have a good time.

I haven't planned anything yet, but I may go to the A's game and then see the Post Game Jordin Sparks concert. Like I said, haven't planned anything yet, but it's out there.

He would have made it two years ago if he had been on an offensively gifted team.

Congrats to Randy. Too bad the cheap fuckers running the D'Backs didn't let him do it in Arizona where he reached all of his other career milestones.

I am sad to think that if he pitches next year, he might get his 5000th strikeout with the damn Giants too. :(

Jon Lester: 9 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 11 K, Win. :techman:

Yep, he's back.

Penny, on the other hand...the Braves can have him.

Rough two games for the Phils - have a lead going into the ninth and lost, once because of a Feliz error and this time b/c of Lidge. At least the starters seem to be doing better.
