miniglik, thanks!!
do you by any chance have the Trek quiz interview link? I'm trying to find it...
^ ^ Nimoy, for one thing, had that fabulous deep voice. That is one thing that I miss in Quinto's portrayal.
The mancrush interview is great. My favorite is still the very eager oldschool TOS fan who does the Access Hollywood interview.
"I'm sweating!" "I'm sweating too!!!"
"Yes, I am that guy!"

Characters- wise, I'd have to give it to Pine's Kirk. I really don't like the look they gave Quinto as Spock.
Now, if we're talking about RL, I'd have to go with Quinto. The dark brows, hair and eyes are just too much for me to resist.
So true! I would have never thought that one day I'd look at McCoy in that way.I forgot to say that what was unexpected for us long-time female Trek fans was a sexy McCoy! That was a nice surprise. And the woman friend I went to the movie with would definitely agree.
After my first viewing of the movie, I barely remembered what Kirk looked like and I only remembered McCoy because I already knew Urban. I think I spent the whole movie ogling SpockNuKirk, NuSpock, and NuMcCoy are all hot, but I've always favored Spock over the others. Quinto as Spock is so stunning to look at, I tend to forget the other two are in the movie.
Always and still, since I'm 7 years oldthat's interesting. did you ladies also feel the same way about Nimoy/Spock?
And I think that it's what attracts me to Spock. The human passion that you can feel is just beneath the cool Vulcan facade. And what y'all describe as "cold" in Spock, I would describe as "formidably intelligent" - but the thing about Spock that gets to us "Spock girls" is that while he is of course very much in control, he gives the impression that there's a lot going on underneath that controlled exterior. A lot. And all of it...very interesting.

In fact, this is true of both characters. TOS Kirk is also unavailable, because he's in love with the Enterprise. And I think that it's what attracts me to Spock. The human passion that you can feel is just beneath the cool Vulcan facade.
This is what I think women find attractive in Spock. I'm just a guy, but I know a lot of women who for some reason love the emotionally unavailable man. The problem is, this seemingly endearing quality often ends up driving you crazy later!

But later on in the movies, Shatner made the Kirk character warmer and more approachable. And I think that is where I started going over to the light side, so to speak.
There was one detail I absolutely enjoyed in the movie. When Quinto/Spock is in the turbolift going up to the bridge for the Enterprise inaugural flight, just before the doors open, he tilts his head in a way that is so totally Spock, I was on the squee verge. Yep, I'm a goner.
Spock being my absolute favorite ST character (I also like Data and Odo, which is somehow telling), I feared I wasn't going to like his portrayal in STXI (after all, I had known him for 27 years played by Nimoy) and that would have ruined the movie for me. But when adult/Spock stepped out of the shadows to speak to his mother, I was like "OMG"![]()
