I'm not a slash fan, but I do enjoy the Kirk/ Mc Coy community myself.

CBS not available in Canada either. Joost doesn't seem to have any episodes.

CBS would be a great place to watch the remastered episodes too. :(

i have been saying for awhile this is how something lives in the future.

when jeremy bretti did holmes it bought a whole new group of people into that fandom.
and many of them went back and not just read the original canon ( where the word as far as i know first came from) but a lot of them went and seeked out the earlier versions of holmes in the media.

I wasn't sure about CBS being viewable in Canada, but I figured it was worth a try. As far as I'm aware, they only have the original, un-"remastered" eps available.

They're all there for me, but upon checking I find that a lot of their content (and particularly that owned by Viacom/CBS) is restricted to US users only (for the usual licensing reasons); I'd been under the (apparently mistaken) impression that it was available globally.

If I think of another way, I'll post something here.

[How about we just link to the post, okay? A huge block of text without quote tags to clearly delineate who said what is just asking for confusion. -M']

^^^ Just wanted to repost 3 D Master's response to my observation that fans of Star Trek XI were infact becoming interested in past TOS episodes, because of the new Trek movie...

:) This thread lends more weight to my observation.

Apparently TOS dvd/bluray sales have been UP.

I'm also seeing TOS eps on a local broadcast television channel weeknights at 9 PM. I can't think of the last time that's happened -- must be 20 years ago or more. (This, in addition to the remastered eps showing on a different channel every Sunday.)

Anecdottally speaking: I just started a new job recently, and I "decorated" my cube with a lot of my Star Trek stuff. I can't tell you how many Gen-X'ers would stop to comment/compliment me on my stuff- and to ask for details from the TOS eps. Apparently they saw the movie- and wanted more details.

I will say that several of them were TNG fans from their childhoods (which made me feel slightly older than normal)- but they were now wanting more stuff on TOS. City on the Edge of Forever and Trouble with Tribbles seems to be good introductory material. I've had a couple of the "kids" say how much they enjoyed it, and didn't realize it was out there. Of course, I was in my late teens before I ever heard about Forbidden Planet and Metropolis, so ignorance of SF canon is hardly a new phenomenon.

I've deliberately avoided recommending episodes with too many styrofoam boulders.

shore leave and trouble with tribbles.. two of the out right fun episodes

Do you use firefox? You can proxy your IP. That's what I do and I am watching The Man Trap as I type (I'm in Canada). Here's a little guide to show you how.

Just remember to pick a proxy for the USA.

    Cheers.
