If you look at his track record, besides Elf and Talladega Nights (and to a lesser extent Step Brothers and Blades of Glory), most of his movies make well below $100 million. Considering how much they cost, they are very successful, but not box office powerhouses.

Here's a fun fact:
Star Trek will end up as Paramount 7th most successful film of all time...unadjusted of course.

Hope T4 does well, atleast to get a final film in the series made so the Terminator series can be bookended.
Trek is still doing well and will make 200 million easily and with a sequel already but confirmed.

Not surprising, since The Sarah Connor Chronicles was cancelled due to ratings. Who exactly was waiting for a Terminator sequel anyway?

Star Trek seems to be hanging in there, dueling once again with A&D, but maintaning its audience even in its third week. Impressive.

So by the end of the long weekend STAR TREK is going to be the number one money maker for the year so far. And it'll hold on to that spot for a least three or four weeks.

Very nice. It's a good time to be a Trekkie.

Man, things are looking pretty good for Trek. It's been spiking on Saturday, meaning it will probably do very nicely on Sunday this weekend as well. And T4 looks like its going to tank. Very nice!

I could see Trek staying pretty strong all the way through to Transformers.

You just know the next time you see a terminator on the big screen it will be a reboot of the series with a real good director and writer behind it. I don't see a part 2 in this McG series ever happening.

Interesting numbers.

It is now likely that "Night at the Museum" will be number one at the box office this weekend. The two films were so close on Friday night and NATM will surely play better on Sunday and Monday than T4.

I'd bet that S.T. comes in at number three this weekend. It should out gross "Angels and Demons" Saturday thru Monday.

The producers of T4 can't be thrilled with it's performance thus far.

Believe it or not "Star Trek" is going to be the biggest of the early summer films... Who would have thought?

Maybe, but I think it will be tough to reboot convincingly. The franchise was very reliant on Arnold.

The movie trailer makes it look boring and serious and too heavy-handed. I like Bale--but man that heaviness is getting old. The reviews just confirm suspicions.

Weren't the first two Terminators heavy and serious? And three was blasted as being too light and silly?

that's true. they'll need good writers and a fantastic casting director. one of the reasons I believe Trek did so well was because casting was so, soooo spot on. it was absolute gold -- from the big ones (Kirk and Spock) to the smallest ones (the "Yes, sir!" voice from a supposed Nurse Chapel in Sickbay).

Christian Bale has never "opened" a film. People did not go and see the last couple of "Batman" films because he was in them. They went because "Batman" is a franchise that they enjoy.

Stars the magnitude of Clint Eastwood and Tom Cruise can "open" films. Not stars like Bale.

P.S. I don't mean to sound down on C.Bale (I'm a fan) but he isn't in that class of celebrity yet.
