This episode was stupid. How do they kill of Jimmy Olsen? Aint he in the comic books?

Where did Lois go and what is up with Zod? Didnt he get banished to the phantom zone jail thing? How did he get out?

What is going to stop Doomsday from just digging his way out. He is indestructable so I highly doubt a few tons of rocks will stop him. All he has to do is start digging and he is free.

As for Clark, now after all he has seen he decides to grow a pair of balls and be all "bad ass" now after some character he really didnt hang with dies? Get real!!! When Lana, Lois, Chloe, his mom, etc got into trouble he had no probably being Mr Nice guy even though humans were screwing his buddies over. Now that Jimmy dies who he didnt hang with he decides humans are crap? WAKE UP MORON! YOU SHOULD HAVE REALIZED THIS WHEN THEY HUNG YOU UP IN THE CORN FIELD IN SEASON 1 WITH LANA'S KRYPTONITE NECKLACE AROUND YOUR NECK!

This show is starting to suck.

Anyone hoping that when Lois put on that ring and traveled to the future, the Legion destroyed her thinking she was Doomsday?

Oh my god, that episode was terrible! Congrats, you've reached a new low! Plot holes after plot holes. Why did Lois and Tess fight again? Are the writers even trying?

How on earth can you say there are plot holes after only Part ONE of an episode? if the season opener sucks, THEN there can be plot holes.

A little bit of "premature adjudication" if you ask me.

I actually wish Clark had sent Doomsday to the future. That way he could fight him when he is Superman, and ready.

OK, Doomsday vs Clark: The whole season has supposedly been building up to this confrontation, and this is all we get? It's not just that it was a short fight, but that it was a pointless one. Doomsday is indestructable, they know this won't kill it.

Clark and Davis: This was ironic, and Ollie had actually suggested this. It makes sense, possibly the only sense this season, that Clark would try Black K on Doomsday to "save" Davis. The thing is, you don't try something like that thinking it will save anyone but Davis. You do it to save one person, yes, but not if it puts even two people at risk, much less the entire world. The best case scenario here doesn't really play out in the positives. Clark should have said, "If I get the chance, I want to try the Black, because we should save the Davis persona if we can." Davis shouldn't have been the main goal, the main goal is saving countless lives from Doomsday, even if it costs several in the process.

Chloe and Doomsday/Davis: All those loving looks from Chloe to Davis were just flat out misleading. Chloe's choices are still not explained or logical, there was no reason to stop Clark sending him to the Phantom Zone.

Jimmy: Cheap trick. Not clever. It might have been clever if they mentioned his brother's name a couple seasons ago. And the kid should have had red hair.

Clark vs Ollie: They both need to back off. Ollie should tell Clark that he has felt regret and questioned his actions, Clark needs to understand that human beings kill in self defence, and ultimately killing Lex Luthor is self defence no matter when or how you do it. What we have instead is two characters who should be able to get along, they are instead having a testosterone fueled feud.

Clark vs the League: Let's pretend to go along with Clark, and then side with Ollie at the last minute. OK. Clark is part of the League, he has to be part of the League, if the League is playing around with him and siding with Ollie, it put's the weight against Clark. If Clark is "right" and everyone else is "wrong", then he should have nothing to do with them. They are all too black and white about this. It is a device to drive them apart, not realistic.

Clark vs Himself: Maybe this is a journey he has to take, but he shouldn't have to. 5 second philosophies are not something to decide your life. Clark isn't showing the wisdom or thoughtfulness to justify turning his back on his humanity. He is not showing a lick of intelligence or memory either. Kryptonians are not emotionless robot Vulcans. They have emotions that have always appeared not dissimilar to humans. So what is Clark supposedly turning his back on? He is already human, the Kryptonians were human in all ways except they had powers and technology. If there is a difference, the writers need to decide what it is and depict it.

I'm still fuming I wasted my time watching this thing, so I'll just say word to all of it. Good gracious. WTF?! was that.

The Jimmy Olsen from the comics is the kid Chloe gave the camera to at the funeral. The Jimmy we've known so far is his older brother, Henry James Olsen.

That's sort of the point; Doomsday will stay buried for a while. Long enough for CK to become Superman. Then he'll escape, echoing how he escaped the buried prison capsule in the comics, and fight Superman. The only downside is that we'll never see it. Smallville has just set up a piece of future continuity that it will never follow up on. That's what makes the fact that the Clark/Doomsday fight was so poor even worse.

I was kind of hoping for that infamous Superman death scene. Oh well.

By the way, the Jimmy we know from other versions of Superman is named "James Bartholomew Olsen". I was suprised that they actually killed off Jimmy, but I was also relieved to see that they kept the mythos intact by making the little brother the real Jimmy. Eh... Better than nothing I suppose.

One question... How did Clark contact whatshisface from the future?

Yep, that's what the producers have said.

Just one little problem.

I thought I remembered them giving Jimmy's full name as James Bartholomew Olsen, which is traditional, in an earlier episode.

Today someone told me it was the wedding.

Now they give his name as "Henry James Olsen"?

What did he do? Marry under his brother's name?

And besides, look at the age difference between Jimmy and...uh...little Jimmy.

The older kid must have already been using "Jimmy" when the new kid was born.

Who in their right mind gives their son the name his older brother already has as a middle name, and which he's already using as a nickname?

It would have been better to at least say the little kid was Jimmy's cousin or something. Two cousins can have the same name. It happens.

Could I ask WHERE the producers have said this? If it's online, I'd like a link...so I can laugh at the lameness.

I have a strong suspicion that the reason the fight was so lame is they plan on having them really duel to the death sometime in the future and didn't want to spoil it here.

Despite the problems, it was still an okay episode and definitely better than the last two finales (not that that's saying much).

Gastrof... I'm Larry, this is my brother Daryl and this is my other brother Daryl.

{cough}Zathras!!{cough)

He hit a billionaire up for 20 bucks to buy crack when he could have sold that house for tens and tens of thousands?

This was an absolutely lame episode! And entire season of build up and the fight between Clark and Doomsday becomes the lamest fight scene in the history of Smallville fight scenes? Remember my rant from over a year ago? Now you guys know how great a prediction that was!

Wow...That thread is hilarious. Everyone was all doom and gloom. Let's face it, overall, this season was pretty bad-ass.

Also, I thought you said you were done with this show in that thread? Yet, here you are. :p

Two bads from me.

Good points:
* Chloe not dying.
* The final scene is interesting.

Bad points:
* Oliver and co turning on Clark instead of helping him.
* Clark taking the above lying down. Oliver is a murderer and then he turns on Clark ? Clark should be bringing him down, not working with him.
* The Clark/Doomsday fight was very poor.
* Regan Matthews reappears in the video Lois watches. It's not bad enough that Tess Orgasm-Murdered him, she also has to have him tortured first ?

This episode pretty much sums the whole season up, a lot of hype and potential but failing to deliver every single time and using Kryptonite to fill in plot holes.

I give both the episode and season an Average score.

The fight between DD/CK was short but it was good. That's what should have happened to CK. Getting his ass beat. I don't know if anyone else noticed but it was an almost direct copy of the recent Superman: Doomsday animated film fight. I really noticed it when DD grabbed CK by the neck and started punching him in the gut making blood spew from his mouth. Then the mega jump by CK.
