If DC could buy some Marvel characters...

No. DC is owned by Time Warner. Marvel is an independent publicly traded corporation.

And they did merge universes. It was interesting.
I don't want the characters combined like they did in amalgam. I want the established characters intact as they are now, only operating in the same or a connected realites

Well, there was also the JLA/Avengers crossover event. All the usual suspects were there.

Since Wolverine laughs off neve gas, knock out pellets would do very little.
Well that's the thing though. We don't know that. He still gets tired like normal people do. His healing factor isn't like Cap's Super Solider Serum and gives him non-stop energy. Which means there are ways to get around his healing factor. Nerve gas is meant to injure and kill. It's something he can heal from. Knockout pellets are not. It's not something he'd normally heal from. And it's been proven he can be knocked out. I don't know the comic science around it. But I'd be willing to bet they would probably work.

Companies merge from time to time in case you didn't know it.

Yeah and may be next they'll merge Star Wars and Star Trek into a single universe. Keep dreaming that dream fanboi.

Minor characters? There was a character created by Rich Buckler for the old Atlas Comics, Demon Hunter, who later showed up as Devil Slayer in Marvel. I always thought he'd be better in DC Comics. And I always thought Machine Man was Fourth World enough to fit in with Jack Kirby's other DC characters. -- RR

Galactus would make an effective threat for the New Gods, and not even look out of place.

Then again, Mageddon is Galactus in concept.

Galactus did make an effective threat for the New Gods, and kicked Darkseid's butt.

I've always thought that it would be insane fun if Spider-Man and Batman switched places for a year. Not very likely to happen, I know...

Ooh! They should do it like that crappy romantic comedy The Holiday or whatever it was with Cameron Diaz & Kate Winslet.:p

They are in the same universe. It's just that no one from Star Trek has gotten far enough out of our galaxy to discover the Star Wars galaxy.

Wolverine gets his ass handed to him every time he tries to take on Cyclops, Daredevil, Captain America, and The Punisher.
No he doesn't. He's held his own against Captain America and Spider-Man. And I never saw Cyclops beat him. Nightwing has nothing that could even hurt Wolverine. He'd probably bust his hand on Wolverine's indestructable jaw.

What they should do is just merge universes.
Why go for the jaw? Poke him in the eyes, kick him in the balls or just punch him in the gut. Maybe a quick punch to the throat? Or some fancy judo moves to take him off his feet? Nightwing is a trained acrobat and martial artist. I think he can keep out of harms way long enough to take Wolverine out.

Wolverine has just as much martial arts training as he does if not more. He's been thrown and punched by the Hulk. The guy who used to get tied up by the Riddler just doesn't equal that.

Wolverine is both a victim of the Worf Effect and an all-around favorite guest-jobber.

It isn't that he's easy to beat, but that he's a measuring stick used to demonstrate how powerful everyone else is. And that makes him look a heck of a lot weaker than he really is.
Ahh ... don't read much Marvel outside of the Ultimate Universe and Runaways, so I don't have a real grasp on Wolverine's power. But in Runaways, a 12 year old tiny mutant girl punched Wolverine through a wall. This would explain it.

im sure Q, The Traveller, or the Borg have reached their galaxy at some point

Doesn't matter, since the events we know of in the Star Wars galaxy happened in our past - "A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away..." - they'd also have to time travel to actually see anything.

His signature move seems to be jumping at you arms spread wide, talking tough and then slashing. I'm thinking even a kid in shortpants can figure away to counter such a clever martial arts moves as that. Nightwing was trained by Batman. so the tough talk wont phase him at all.

I'm sorry but Robin the boy hostage just is not that tough. His best blows would just only irritate Wolverine.

Hmmm.... it would seem you are correct. Which is weird - I don't know where I got that Marvel was essentially owned by Time Magazine, but I know I had some reason for thinking that.
